Hi ALl,

Had a colonsocopy and endoscopy for my stomach yesterday and I am still experiencing effects of the prep/'cleanse'. This did not happen at my last colonoscopy 10 yrs ago. This time I followed instructions but nothing "happened" for a long time. then things started to move, but my appointment was at 8:15 and I was still in the bathroom at home at 7:30. Anyway, went throught the procedure (co,on was fine my dr said) only to come home and have cramps and diarrhea all afternnon and night, and still having some cramping today. I did a Miralax prep. Wondering if others have had similar experiences. Also wondering how to get myself back on track. Any input appreciated.

I do not have to have another colonsocopy for 10 yrs I am am praying that by then they will have come up with somethng better.....

Thanks all,

Judy in Newport

Hi Judy, yes that MiraLax prep can continue to work for the entire day after the procedure…

It can take a few days to start to have normal bowel movements, but the cramping and liquid should stop, if you are still having a prob, don’t hesitate to call the GI dr, they will call you back, even on the weekend.
Make sure you are staying hydrated
Glad you won’t have to go through that again for 10 years

Hugs
dee

Thanks Dee. I wish I had known that before the procedure! I would not have had to call in sick yetserday, could have preplanned a day off. Why don't drs tell you these things?

I am feeling better but still having cramping whenever I eat something. Hope that will continue to improve.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!

Judy
