Hello Leslie,
I also have legs issues and scares the hell out of me. I am not overweight for my height and have had three different vein striplings of both legs. I get various veins that have caused pain these past several years. The pain I have now is in the hip and down to my toes. My rhemo. Said on top of FM I have bercitis. If I don't stay moving it gets must worse. I did do some water therapy that strengthened my core, but insurance only takes care of 16 visits. On my bad days I soak in Epson Salt hot bath. If I drive say 30 minutes and try to get out and walk is it terrible. I have had people offer to help me and get imbaressed. I have been Blessed that my Rheumotologist is the best and in fact she let me try several meds until we found the best mixture. She is a fairly new graduate and is up on all the latest FM meds. At one point I asked about Lurkea ( spelling?) and she suggest I hold off, she said side effects are much more serious than the meds I am currently taking.
She is in Monroe Michigan at the Monroe Rhemotologist Office and her name is Dr. Zen ab Saleh at 734-ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā . It is a satellite of the Toledo Clinic in Toledo, Ohio.
For you it might be a ways to come down here, but if you do call Mary is the person who would answer the phone. It is a shared office and if you a recording she will call you back right away. Tell Mary Ron Fear sent you.
I would think it might be and hour and a half drive or more each way.
Good Luck!
Hello Leslie,
Yes I have a lot of pain in my legs. But I also have pain in my upper body but my legs hurt more. Itās hard for me to walk or stand for very long. I hurt my back about 2 months ago. So now Iām having lower back pain too. My doctor has referred me to a back and spine specialist. I go to him on the 17th canāt hardly wait. Because I really need to know what is going on with my back now. My symptoms have gotten worse over the years. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2004. At first I could still do things I love doing. Now Iām in bed more than anything. When I sit in my living room too watch a movie with my hubby. When itās time to get up I canāt hardly move out of the chair. My joints hurt I have joint stiffness like crazy. I have tried all kinds of over the counter drugs for joint pain and stiffness. None of those things have worked.
I take Lyrica for fibromyalgia and Celebrex for arthritis. I also have IBS but Iām not taking anything for that. Every 3 days I take a laxative because if I donāt I want go. I hope you get some relief from your leg pain. If I find something that really works I will be sure to share that with you. Hopefully you will have a pain free rest of the week. Have a blessed and awesome day!
I remember the day the doctor I saw told me my blood had a rheumatoid level of something, geez its been so long, so was sent to a specialist at St. jude, there I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I had watched my mom over the last years with hers and I will admit, when I left the office, I sat in the lobby and cried. Tears just came out, cried and called my mom to let her know. I went and got a second opinion with the rhumy doc I have now, been treated and I have taken all suggestions possible, what works is great and what doesnāt he logs into his book. I know this topic has been on here for awhile, but to just share and say it is okay to get second or even third diagnosis is absolutely okay to do and so glad I made the decision to stick with the doc I have now. Blood checks are done every six months for my liver and blood cells and I must say though I am still after all these years trying to accept the fibromyalgia has not gotten any better, living and coping with the tools gained have been a blessingā¦take care
