Effexor and Lyrica

I see some PA as well as doctors. I really like the PAs I see. They seem to spend more time with me and at times seem to have better knowledge. I really hate what they are doing with pain meds. The government, doctors, hospitals etc. treat us like addicts. I would love to see them deal with the pain and all that comes with fibro for a couple of months, and then deal with the system they have created.

Effexor helped me 20 years ago… dont remember why I stopped it Anyway, in January doc put me back on Effexor. I had hallucinations and sweats. He stopped it right away and said “Age makes a tremendous difference in how the body handles a medication.” i think he is right.

I agree with your doctor. Our metabolism slows down and apparently our ability to “process” the chemicals in the medications do as well. I used trazodone for sleep for a very long, long time. It quit working, so I stopped using it, under medical supervision. Just last summer, because of other medication changes, I needed a sleep aid. I tried trazodone again. The side effects were awful.

I am now using Xanax for sleep, but the onset can be as long as 15 hours! The “hangover” can force me to stay in bed, hours longer than I would like.
