the message i got from charlie daniels the devil went down to georgia - whatever problem u r facing kick it in the arse and get rid of it and if u cant get rid of it show it who is boss
the message i got from the country song if your going through hell - life gets hard but if u stop then life will only get harder and u will never rise above the challenge to make it better
the message i got from pat benetar hit me with your best shot - it dont matter what the problem is it will never knock me down for long
the message i got from the judds rockin with the rythm of the rain - as long as u stay dry and keep rocking there will always be someone rocking with u
i learned alot of life lessons from music noone taught me until the day i heard a country song called radio heart that was when things really hit home as far as me being able to relate to songs very few songs r sad if u listen to the message they send.
the message i got from martina mcbride broken wing - the lady in the song was married to an abusive man she gathered enough strength even though she was battered to pick herself up and leave to make a better life for herself as the song says and with a broken wing she still sings she keeps an eye on the sky, that line says never give up on your hopes and dreams u may be down u may feel broken but never give up
music to me is not music its lessons within a melody lessons that i learned all on my own cuz i was forced to grow up way too fast far too soon and have adult responsibilities by the age of 7 by that age i knew how to change my 2 year old brothers diapers, make his bottles, make lunch for me, i knew how to dust, vacuum, and do laundry
so the wisdom i pass on to people wasnt taught to me i learned them through experience and the experience of music cuz i can relate to the words in almost every song perfectly down to a T
I agree there usually a message I can find if I really listen. I feel bad that u were forced to grow up so fast. No seven year old should have those responsabilitys. At 7 my mom still helped me shower by washing my hair. I don’t think I even picked out my own clothes.
I am happy though that through all u went through u r here with a positive attitude. U r a very strong person. My hat is off to u.
I still remember the first time I heard Her Diamonds on the radio. I had just recently been diagnosed with IC, and was suffering with depression. Cried my heart out because someone understood and I knew that it was possible to find someone who loved me with all of my problems from that song (and what do you know, I did, and I'm marrying him this summer)
I’m sorry you were one of the lost ones and it’s obvious that you were strong enough to overcome what happened. I was one of the lucky ones, we didn’t have any money but we had lots of love and support… My mother was one of the lost ones as well, 2nd oldest of 8 children, with a physically abusive father, raised during the depression, who went out to work as a cook and be a maid at 13. She was one of the strongest most determined women I have ever met. I love country music, although I can’t relate to every song,I definitely can relate to a lot of them. I particularly loved “if you’re going through hell” when I was conscious during my 6 mos in hospital, and the year after as I recovered. I really admire how positive you are, and your perspective on things, and pray your hopes and dreams do come true.
ty eeyore i have bad days but i vowed long ago i wouldnt be like my step dad he showed me the type of people who i should stay away from and i wasnt going to give him the satisfaction of him feeling like he destroyed my life cuz that is what the goal of an abuser is they want to feel in control and feel like they rule u and they get satisfaction from it and i vowed not to give it to him cuz by not giving an abuser what they want means they will never win and i carry that vow into most areas of my life, i stay away from mean people, i battle my illnesses cuz i see illness as just another type of abuser and an abuser in my book will always lose one way or another
ty b2chi the first time i heard the saying that which does not kill u makes u stronger i brushed it off but as i grew older and i was put in foster care i started to realize how true that saying is my highscool principal when i started my junior year at the new school said i would never graduate on time with as many schools as i had been to that year, see i went through 4 high schools before that in less than a year from being in different foster homes and when he said that i looked at him and said watch me and we both smiled and i walked out of the office and went to my very first class and he called me in the office in january of my senior year straight faced as he could get and says your not welcome in this school anymore i said what the heck did i do and he called the vice pricipal and secretary in they handed him my file and he smiled as big as he could and said u were right u wont be here come next semester congratulations u just made top 10 of the class see u in june for your diploma i had graduated 6 months early with a 3.89 gpa cuz instead of taking study hall i took extra classes but i didnt know those extra classes counted toward my graduation credits but i didnt want to be bored in study halls either lol it was cool how he told me the news
