Since its founding, Ben’s Friends has always depended on donations from friends and family. Our strategy is to operate on a shoestring budget, covering expenses such as website hosting, maintenance and improvement, software subscriptions, and supplies.
We stay away from sources that could negatively affect the communities. For instance, pharma companies and research facilities have long been requesting to advertise in our communities but we resist this to ensure members’ freedom to post their opinions about any drug or treatment facility. (We do, however, only encourage people to publicly post positive reviews.)
We always look for grants and donations, however, they come sporadically especially during these difficult times.
It is for this reason that we need to turn to some of you for voluntary donations.
We are launching a Living With Fibromyalgia Patreon page, a platform that will allow patrons to voluntarily give monthly donations.
Where will your donations go?
Ben’s Friends needs your support so that we can continue to help patients and their families.
If you become a patron, you would be supporting the operations and improvement of the 40-plus online communities of Ben’s Friends that help individuals suffering from rare diseases and chronic illnesses such as:
- Fibromyalgia
- Psoriatic Arthritis
- Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
- Brain Aneurysm
- Chiari Malformations
- Polyneuropathy
- Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis
We would like to emphasize that signing up as a patron is completely voluntary.
Our communities will remain free to use.
Patrons may also cancel their monthly pledge anytime.
If you can provide support, please check out our Living With Fibromyalgia Patreon page.
