Hi Lisa - I know what you are going through. Just a couple of hours ago, I posted a Discussion on the correlation of FIbro and speech problems. I did research and quoted something from the page onto my Discussion. Its very interesting to read. Love, Laurie

Hi Meg - another book lover!!! Yay! I am a very avid book reader. Thanks to my parents, they started me very early in reading and I have been a fanatic about it ever since! LOL I also started very early in piano. I am a trained classical pianist and having books and music in my life is just a blessing! It's a really good idea to keep the brain active. I do a lot of complicated puzzles almost every day. My speech may not always come out right, but I DO try my hardest to be understood! (Smile).

OMG yes.

yes. so much.

I experience "anomia"-like moments, when I want to say simple words, or even the name of a colleague standing RIGHT NEXT to me and I stare at them and can't get their name out. Usually, at that moment, I can't get anything out for a few moments.

Or I start stuttering/getting a knot in my tongue from trying to call to my nursery kids (we have several girls whose names start with an L, and I ALWAYS end up going LaLuL-L-L-i--Luisa (for example))

it happens more and more often.
Usually, I need to pause my speech, close my eyes and try to get my brain back in order OR wait for someone to give the word to me.

It's annoying because I pride myself with having proper language skills, at least in my native tongue. But sometimes what I want to say and what I end up saying isn't the same at all.

WOW after all of this time going through this i know it's not just me and i'm not alone! makes me feel so much better! I have for the past few years either stuttered my words or the big one that i have done for so long is saying my sentences backwards. such as "i'm going to go to the store to get milk" instead i will say "i'm going to the milk to get the store" it as my key points in my sentences are getting tangled and mixed up! when i get mad of frustrated i just stutter and nothing comes out at all! this happens at work often. people at work don't know i have Fibro so the just laugh and dismiss it as Heather being Heather.
