I really like the things anyone would someone who listens ,kindness, skills, and knowledge. But ,what I find is the most important quality that the doctors I now have have in common is the ability to say "I don't know ,when they don't"I have had those kind of doctors in the past who had themselves mixed up with an omnipotent god, they thought they knew everything. It was those doctors who missed my cervical cancer ,and left me in pain for years .They didn't know what they were doing and seemed to have some sort of vested interest in saying I was not as ill as I was. The one doctorat the hospital refused to believe Lyme's was a chronic painful condition as he had created a vacine for it and it was taken off the market,I don't know why?But when I compained about backpain I had had for years it took two years to get any pain relief and that was for a few short weeks after a spinaal fusion which only took away the sciatica which was worth the surgery but it did not take away the pain by any full measure in the rest of my back. Then the pain spilt between the front and back and they sent me to a nurse who was only there to deny patients pain relief like it was not them doing it.Then they said I was rude and drug seeking because I continued to complain of pain. So they fired me ,I was devastated and had to travel three times as far to go to the doctors ,which is very painful and wears me out for days. But the first visit to the new doctor he agreed with me that I had something wrong and that I was probably right that it was cervical cancer,I was right,When a Doctor won't behave like one don't let them make you feel crazy when you know you are not ,at least about being in pain.If the doctor can not bring themselves to say "Idon't know" run,and find another doctor as fast as you can.
I can see that, SK. They are all very important components in doctors' personalities.
I like the my doc is a great listener and that she also thinks outside of the box and has come up with many differing treatments for me before finding the current one. God bless her for that!
Dear sarah2,
So sorry you have had to go through all of this, unfortunately, I have gone through similar. It really takes a toll! Hope you can find 'your Doctor', and be cared for as you are most deserving!
Wishing you well,
SK
Hey tricky123, how are you, girl? Nothing better than the laughter, because if you don't laugh it will eat you up! I like to make them laugh too!
Compassion, seems this should be a requirement! Glad you found some, Kimberly!
I've been there, in my early days in my search to be 'fixed'. The chief of Neruo Surgery is a very nice and wise man! I lived in Randallstown a million years ago, I probably wouldn't recognize it now!
Hey Pet! Glad you have a good Doc! You deserve one! Hope you get some substantial relief!
