Burst of pain but no headache

Hi all… I’m struggling tonight. Worked until after midnight last night, sleep about 3am, then back at work at noon. I had deep ache in my left shoulder all day, couldn’t move it away from my body, couldn’t arm rest on the chair, just by my side. So I get home exhausted and now I’m getting bursts of pain in the right side of my head but no headache. I’m concerned but trying not to panic. The more bursts I have the longer I can feel the remnants. Some of them having me grabbing the side of my head, others are pulses. Ugh. I hate this condition and making me question myself. What’s “normal” pain… what’s fibro? Does it matter? And everyone trying to help me suggests advil, as though I didn’t think of that. “isn’t there anything you can take?” Yes, now that you mention it there is a cure all medication and I don’t know why I didn’t think of that!!! Ugh.

Thanks you any help or advice or a ditto or whatever! Helps to know I’m not going through this alone and I’m not crazy.

Leslie

Leslie,

I've never heard of anyone having that type of pain being Fibro. If you're still having it I'd go to the ER. It could be something serious.

Please let me know how you how you are.

Dottie S.

Thanks for the reply Dottie! I just woke up and I don’t feel bad. That side of my head has sent a few little pulses of pain, not like the big ones from last night. My husband and I are going to keep an eye on things. Depends on if it returns any stronger. I read online about cluster headaches. So maybe its that… I don’t know. I will keep you posted.

Hi Leslie,

I'm so, so sorry you're going through this! Nothing ever works for me when I get those!! Going off refined sugar and learning to better manage my stress did a lot over the course of a couple years to significantly reduce them. But the only "cure" I found for relief at the time was rest and letting it "work it's out." NOT FUN!!!

Sending big hugs and prayers your way!

That sounds like a cluster migraine...

Dear Leslie

If I had that type of headache I would be scared too. I would be going to the ER because this may be something unrelated to fibro. It's too serious to play around with and you don't want to be taking meds that are ineffective or just wrong.

Go to the ER!

Gentle Hugs
