I was on it but it caused a lot of issues with my IBS. Otherwise it did reduce the pain but kept me tired and in the house more than I am now that I am off it.
Really watch the way you feel week to week and make sure you keep feeling a benefit.
I also found that it kept me from feeling annoyed by people and put up with my husband that I had lost the relationship with. Now that I stopped taking it about a year we separated 6 months ago. I was using that medication to tolerate a poor relationship.
Hi there, I have been on 120 mg. of Cymbalta (2-60 mg) I take 2 every MORNING for about 2 years now. It helps me very much as before the Cymbalta I had tried just about every antidepressants available and I think it does help a little with the pain. Good luck, try to stay on it. I must admit that I never had any bad side effects when I first started taking it.
Hi, I take Cymbalta the same dose as you do. It did not help my pain but helped my anxiety so I stayed on it. Cymbalta is not only used for depression and pain, but for generalized anxiety dissorder. If it helps you in any of these ways and the side effects are tolerable then stay on it. One always has to weigh the benifits vs. the side effects of any new medication.
Hi Christina, my husband and I both take cymbalta for fibro. He takes 60mg/day, and I take 150mg/day. We both find it helps. Personally, I have less flares since I've been on it. I still have to take pain meds, but not near as much. I've been on it for over a year now, and haven't have any side effects. Have you tried eating when you take it, or taking an ant-acid? This might help with your stomach issues. Or, sometimes symptoms subside after being on a new med for a while. I have insomnia too, but had that before cymbalta. Good luck, Charlie :)
