HI everyone - As far as I know, I just have Fibromyalgia. But I have noticed a few of you have Lupus as well? Can anyone explain to me what exactly Lupus is? I am getting the idea it has to so with fatique.I may be wrong Thanks!! Laurie
Laurie, here's a link with some pretty good info about Lupus. Yes, the fatigue is terrible with it, but that's only a very tiny part of what Lupus is. Most people want very basic info or else their eyes start to glaze over once they get info overload. If you have any other questions, though, I'm happy to answer them. Lupus awareness happens one person at a time. :)
Hi Red - I was reading the symptoms of Lupus, and out of the 9 symptoms - I have 4 of them. Is there a possibility that I could have it - or do I have to all ALL symptoms?? Thanks! Laurie
Laurie, many of the symptoms are the same between Lupus and other autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, and many of the symptoms are even the same as fibro. Lupus is called "The Great Imitator" because of that, and it's why it's so difficult to diagnose.
I have no idea how long I've had fibro, as I thought all of my problems were lupus related.
If you have concerns, a visit with a Rheumatologist is best. Blood tests play a huge role in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases.
HI Red - Thanks for the information. I see a rheumatologist in the near future - a new one. Since I have been on the web site - I have been writing things down to take with me for the appointment. Laurie
