Fibro, I would suggest trying the patch. He can prescribe you 1 box first and when you get to patch #4 you go in and discuss it. The reason why people like me have to change it every 48 hrs. Yes I’m one of those! Is because our body heat runs high. These patches are body heat regulated and if you run high then you burn it off quicker. I didn’t have any problems in adjusting. If you are truely scared of it ask him if you can just for the time in adjusting which should only be once that he can prescribe your breakthrough pain med “as needed” so he can refill you early if you do need to take more.

I LOVE my patch. I don’t know what I would do with out it. I don’t have to worry about it, I don’t have to keep an eye on the clock or my pain.

Thanks kit, last thing I need is more muscle pain or movement disorders, and can live without fevers, though they may 'warm me up'! LOL!

As a matter of fact, I had the bright idea to only take half a Phenergan today and ended up with my 'head in the bucket' all night! UGH!

Thank you punkin for the good advice. So far, so good with taking dilaudid twice a day with one vicodin during the afternoon. If tolerance develops i can think of the patch.
