Hello I am newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia I have a few questions

My only problum is I can’t slow down I have to stay at work because I don’t think at 29 I will ever beable to get disability so I have to keep pushing my self harder to keep working I just don’t know what I am going to do. At times I just want to give up on every thing just so tired of the pain and every thing else not to mention the herasment I get at work

I plan to bedazzle my cane since it seems its not going away anytime soon. The few friends I do have and my boyfriend said they would help me.

Are you hypermobile at all blueeyedgirl? I have been my whole life and just found out it's because of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. One of the symptoms of EDS is fibro. When I was a kid, they told my mom I was "just double jointed" but it turns out there was a lot more to it than that. My joints sublux and dislocate all the time and pop back in by themselves usually. Subluxation is partial dislocation.

I like that idea too. Anything to jazz it up and make you feel like it's an accessory, not a piece of medical equipment. And it's amazing how much more thoughtful people are to you when you have that cane in your hand.

I never once gave thought to the young people with fibro...what on earth do they do? Boyce, I think it might be worth your while to start a new thread here on that very topic. Surely some of these people can give you ideas on what's available to help you out. I've heard of SSI instead of disability, thanks to AngelonEarth. Maybe you could qualify for it. You could google it to find out. I dearly hope you find something, as it's beyond unfair to expect people who are chronically ill and in pain to keep on working.

That's too bad, I wish I had the answer. I've been to a neurologist, he was a creep! The way he touched and handled my legs was excruitiating. I told him he was really hurting me, he ignored me. In the end he said nothing was wrong with my legs. Charlie :)
