How do hormones effect your symptoms?

Do any of you have worsening symptoms during ovulation and menstruation?

My ovulation time is almost as bad as my PMS! My pms is also like 7 days long. This month was particularly bad. Severe nausea and stomach pain, felt like i was hit by a semi and the fog was so bad i was having trouble forming sentences. Ive been in bed straight for a week. I also get really dizzy and disoriented. My head feels heavy and foggy, my eyes are so blurry i feel half blind and all i wanna do is sleep. My iron is fine and ive had my actual hormones checked and they are within normal range. Ive also have been checked for endometriosis and im fine.

Anyone relate?

Hi, WinnieBlue!
I’m sorry you’ve been so ill! I’ve no doubt that hormones can affect your symptoms. I no longer have “monthly visits,” so no PMS, but, if I didn’t take hormone pills, I’d be having hot flashes and be stressed out, which could potentially send me into a fibromyalgia flare. When our body experiences stress & pain, that pain is magnified by the fibro. It’s just one of the many things that this crazy condition does.
I’m having foggy brain this week, too, which is NOT good, since I work full time from home, but I deal with it as best as I can.
I’m so glad that you don’t have endometriosis! I’m also glad you are listening to your body and resting. Hopefully, others on the site will have info. or advice that can help. Sending you gentle hugs & a prayer for relief! :purple_heart:
