2022-02-26, Saturday 5%, not 10% - Stiff and difficulty targeting switches and handles.
v2: 13:45 Extremely stiff today, need minutes to get up.
v1: watch similar food triggers (but less amounts, no soy y.). 22:00 after having procrastinated with self-treatments, I did a whole stint in a “revenge bedtime procrastination”, so my back wouldn’t hamper with my sleep. 11:30

Psychologist: I’ll bring this topic up on Tuesday, see what she says: My wife thinks I explain FM & MCAS to others too precisely and long to others. She’d prefer me to just say ‘soft tissue rheumatism’ and ‘histamine intolerance’ and leave it at that. She thinks they don’t understand me anyway and stop listening. (A part of this is that she doesn’t want to hear much about it.) I realized and said that I do that FOR MYSELF and not them, and DESERVE to do that, it’s the way I cope with it plus - if people ask me how I am - I can demonstrate to them that I’m coping well by understanding and acting on it; whilst other sufferers etc. may feel they want to moan or the lack of understanding of others which I neither have. When I realize that people don’t understand I try to reduce the complexity. And my table tennis mate just says: Ah, just talk to our other mates about that, they’re interested in medicine. My wife had to concede a bit, and realized that I don’t see my mates much nowadays and they just really are interested. So maybe that topic’s thru…

Jab-sfx/MCAS/antihistamine:
Lots of sinus burning in the morning, even after eating and supps. Yesterday’s food? Cheese slivers, spelt bread, raisins… Blowing nose helps clear the nose, but not the burning (and headache and nausea). Try breath-holding… Bit better, but not gone. Then GABA? After C4-batch: 12:35, about 150mg → 13:50 sinuses another bit better.
’Research’ today:
Reading up a bit in Afrin’s big fat book Never Bet Against Occam. The cases are a bit boring, it’s so individual they’re far away from ‘me’, but there’s a big part at the end where I can look up things like Factor VIII and triglycerides. What he says about the anti-inflammatory side-effects of statins increases the case for atorvastatin again.
But the interaction between atorvastatin and rupatadine is a problem: https://www.medicine.com/drug/atorvastatin/hcp: " Rupatadine: May enhance the adverse/toxic effect of HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors (Statins). Specifically, the risk for increased CPK and/or other muscle toxicities may be increased. Monitor therapy" My CPK is already increased, however I haven’t yet experienced muscle pain from statins, if that is what this is referring to. C(P)K = Creatin(phospho)kinase, an enzyme in brain as well as muscles. Reasons for its increase: Statins, infection, immobilization, lack of blood supply to a particular limb. Its breakdown in the kidneys causes myoglobin, which is attacked by white blood cells.
High CPK Levels Causes, Symptoms, Side Effects, Treatment by Dr Himanshi
Hoffman warns about quercetin and EGCg, cos the COMT++ enzyme can cause problems (gene). Praps before I do a gene test for this I should try a few days without the 2? But the symptoms I should be looking for are anxiety, insomnia and pain, and I have absolutely no anxiety, my better sleep is the only positive thing about the jab-sfx and my pain is probably caused by the jab and isn’t my biggest problem.
Lessons in self-care #234 Quite a bit of housework, but breaks every 2-3 minutes, trying not to overdo it.
Reasons to be cheerful #241 Still getting lots done, piles down.
