Medical School Hopeful? Stuck at Home? Volunteer Online!

Do you know someone who’s sheltering in place, and who aspires to medical school or one of the helping professions? They may be interested in this volunteer opportunity at Ben’s Friends. Please pass this on!

We have a limited number of volunteer patient advocacy internships available for university students. Ben’s Friends Interns welcome new members/patients, review requests for memberships and learn communications and moderation skills. This volunteer work is all done online, and it’s very flexible in terms of time commitments. More information is available here.

Past interns have used their online volunteer experience with us as part of their Medical School application, and many have successfully gained admission.

An application form is also available here.

Ben’s Friends, a non-profit 501[c]3 organization, builds, maintains and moderates internet communities that provide social and emotional support for people whose lives have been touched by a rare disease. Our 40+ communities are safe, supportive and non-commercial.
