Quack, quack, quack - that's all I could think of as I walked out of yet another doctor - this one specializes in SLEEP!

Now that you ask all the meds she had given me I had to many side effects, but I am still on abilify which she put me on.

So, Robin, this doctor, when you really take stock of her, didn't really help you much. But how easy is it to startv l;ooking for another doctor? Do you live in a city with access to many doctors?

I live in a town of 3700, and a Medical Clinic with 8 doctors. But if I couldn't find a doctor here, then I would have to drive one hours to the city and that is not workable for me. Fortunately I am satisfied with my new doctor. Hum......

Yes, Lisa, some doctors who are fit, golf in summer and curl in the winter and are just naturally skinny, think that exercise is easy. Well it certainly is not for me and then along came fibro and exercise is brutal. We are not all physically fit in the real world.

I'm glad Lisa that you were able to find another PCP quickly. For others it's not that easy so that makes things frustipating(a new word made up by Sheila Wall, a member here, and she got word that it has been accepted in the dictionary. Isn't that great?!

Got up with my alarm, but wanted to stay in my warm bed after staying up till 11:00 pm - very late for me. I HAD to read to shut my mind off so it was close to 12 when I shut my light off. No monster ducks for me, but not a good night. I was up at 1:30 till 3. Did some deep breathing and switched pillows, walked around to relieve pain and go to bathroom. Woke up again at 4, 5:15 and 6:25, knowing I had to get up at 7 but snuggled down till the nasty buzz went off. Such a successful night if sleep! You can do it! (All said between clenched teeth). I’m looking forward to a great morning with my Sunshine - will try to post some pics later today ( after a nap!) thanks everyone for making me laugh - it’s a great feeling knowing one is not alone in this

Sandi, I'm so glad to hear that you found a new PCP so quickly! That should give your hopes a lift. My problem has always been that the pain would not let me get to sleep til after 4 am. Now that I am retired I find that my best sleeping time is after 4 am and on til noon.

New Internist, new hope, Sandi. My Rheum says that the 'fog' is caused by chronic pain, he added that chronic pain does not allow us to have proper sleep!

I'm planning on telling this to the sleep doctor when I call to cancel my appt. I took the time to read the 2 pages he slipped in with my sleep logs. Bogus crap when it comes to chronic pain and fibro. I should bill him for wasting my time! So hoping the new year brings good luck with the new holistic/neurologist.Wish I could get in to see her earlier than Jan. 31st, but sometimes good things come to those who wait......painfully!

Sandi, many years ago I had a seizure. I was taken by ambulance to the ER and was then admitted to the hospital for five days and I had a bunch of tests run. No answers as to what caused the seizure but the doc put me on seizure meds. When I went for a follow up two weeks later, I had to wait over two hours to see him. I was right pissed. When he came in the room, I told him I had to miss over two hours of work to come and sit in his exam room and he should have to pay my salary. He was a little taken aback but I said that I had clients scheduled and I had a lot to do. He looked at me like I was nuts and then, when I told hm the meds were making me extremely sleepy, he said that he didn’t know why I was taking seizure medication (which he prescribed) because I didn’t have a seizure disorder. I looked at him and then walked out. Didnt say anything, Didn’t check out or anything else. My time is valuable just as his is and just as everyone’s is. They should be held more accountable to patients as we pay them- they are there to serve us! Okay, getting off my soap box now. Hope everyone is having a great night.

I think you right about the quack, quack, quack. Go some where else fast :)
