So as I am fighting for DEPENDENCY OVERRIDE on my financial aid, the school credit system/bank, called BURSAR are starting to fine me for not paying dues. I just found out today that I needed over $1,000 paid to bursar. Now my account is locked and I cannot schedule for next semester. I have been fighting financial aid all through September and now October. I do not make more than $200 every TWO WEEKS. How can I pay for anything with so little every month that goes towards food, gas, and other personal needs? I am so scared and stressed that I am giving myself a flare up. I was so happy this morning with zero pain, and now I am sitting here stressed to a point of tears and pain in my hips building up. Any suggestions on what to do??? In less than an hour, I will be sitting down and talking to a financial aid rep. to help explain ad give me advice.
Explain things to the rep maybe they will have a solution. Let us no what happens
I will! I am just so stressed and worried. Especially since I have no physical support here
I'm sorry you are going through that. Finances and money are very stressful, and stress causes flares. I hope the financial aid representative can be of assistance. Keep us updated : )
Sending good thoughts your way,
Sara
HI Suzanne, I hope the call was helpful and the financial aid counselor had some options. There are often grants, scholarships, and low interest loans available to students. Hang in there, you are growing and doing a great job advocating for yourself. Hugs!
I was told that Financial Aid would email the Bursar and hopefully they will consider not to fine me.
