What makes our suffering so unbelievable to others?

I walk out the house dolled up, hair done, make-up neat and in so much pain I can punch a stranger. . .and they say we LOOK normal . .wheew if they only knew.

I try not to think about that because I now the numbers has got to be up there in the fibro world but I like to think that all fibro victims are as strong as we are. . .hopefully. . .

Thanx. . .my mind just goooes off. . .lol

exactly Sk, however they watch these so called reality shows that show a 30 min fix to a problem that these ppl should very well know, cannot be fixed in an hour. smh TV is the devil. . .lol

Hi SK, you bring up a great point, I don’t think any one without fibro really gets it, however even when we try and explain things they just still don’t get it. I prob tell my daughter more about my symptoms than anyone. she had her gallbladder out this week, so I was with her all day for her surgery, then had to be back at her house at 8:30 the next morning to help get my grandson to school( first day of kindergarten) then I had to rush across town to be in court with my son( his first speeding ticket) ( better be his last) came home to rest & got a call from my son he needed his work uniform, had 2 drive across town to get it 2 him by 2:30 and had to be back at my daughters to pick up my grandson at school at 3. That was tues & wed, so guess what I had to do all day today … Nothing , could not move. I was upset that she scheduled her surgery the day before school started, sure it worked out for her, but not for me, so deep down I was upset with her, and when she was complaining about the pain I made a terrible comment " at least you will get better, how would you feel if you had to live with that pain" I feel so bad, but no one seems to understand and I find myself making comments to loved ones that I feel should understand, that’s just so not me. I don’t know what the ans is ??? I have to learn to say no without guilt, maybe then they may take notice.
It’s so strange how many people say to us … You look good… And inside we feel horrible … What the heck

Hi dee!

You really had a crazy time of it! Glad to know you got through it all as well as you did.

I know you are filled with guilt about saying that to your daughter, but perhaps it needed to be said just the way you 'laid it out'! We get so frustrated with this constant battle that it does not always come out nicely, or they blow us off when we are nice about it.

I don't know what the answer is to all of this either, but it surely doesn't do a thing for us as far as improving our heath and well being. It's not just about Fibro either, you can read the same thing over and over on Psoriatic Arthritis, Lupus, and probably every site and every disease you can think of.

Most of the time, I don't even look good any more. Yes, I am aging, but it goes beyond that, far beyond, it is the drain from it, like all of our good qualities have been sucked out and pain and anguish are there in place. I am getting haggard from it. What a drag!

My Mom and I went out for a bite tonight to our little town Pizzeria, and Mom made me laugh, she said "I didn't think we looked too good to go out, but looking at most of the people here we look pretty darn good, most of them look like they just got off the cross country wagon train!" LOL! So I guess we looked better than I thought too! HA!

Glad your daughter got through the surgery ok, and glad you got through helping out!

Hopefully you have some rest ahead of you!

Always a pleasure to hear from you!

Hugs,

SK

We all need the 'House team' and their total undivided attention to get to the bottom of it all and make us all better in less than 60 minutes! Like that happens!

You are so right. I fantasize that I am on Grey’s anatomy and they cure me. LOL

LOL Dr. McSteamy cures me. .

Yes I understand, I feel like an ugly alien in my own skin

omg i had the same prob. a friend said they would help me but after 10 mins he was bitching about his neck hurting and came inside and put the heating pad on his neck meanwhile i had to finish alone in the heat and in pain

Thanks SK I smiled when I read about you and your mom at the pizza place, thank god for a good laugh, my mom and I get laughing over the same topic lol
Thanks for helping me smile

Hugs

PS we found out that the wagon train actually is here! For a small town festival! Some days we are the ones who look like we have been on the wagon train! LOL! So we had another good chuckle!
