What should I have my doctor write in a letter stating I need my service Dog

thanks! :) I will request the letter tomorrow. I'm also going to get one from my other Dr about my PTSD as well.

Thankfully the places we've looked at let me know I just need a doctor's letter and I don't have to tell them any thing about the reason why,

I am sorry if you heard what i said as hurtful i did not intend it that way. You said that you were not trying to not trying to 'pull one on a landlord'. So i took that as you were not trying to get in any kind of housing.

I do not get why you are so hung up on small, medium or large dogs are qualifying for Service dogs. All sizes are used as long as they can pass all the requirements. Most signal dogs at Canine Companions where i trained dogs where medium to small and i have said that more than few times now.

I thought like me that fact the dog gives you so much comfort was the important thing and i really was confused about what title you wanted your dog to have or even why it needed it since you were not trying to get it in housing. I think maybe if you specifically stated the things it was going to be trained to do to assist you...since Service dog must assist disabled person. It just cannot help emotionally..here is directly what it states; Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

So i apologize that i thought you just loved your dog greatly and just that was enough for you. I sincerely did not mean to insult you...i totally misunderstood your intentions on what you wanted from your dog.

I have small dog myself...which right now is one that gives me most emotional support. So i have no doubt your little one does the same for you...i mean this as a compliment.

thank you for responding. I am sorry if I came off really b*tchy. I think some things were taken wrong with the postings. It's hard to get the feelings behind comments with just writing it and not speaking to the person.

And yes, my lil guy brings me great comfort with my anxiety and depression. Animals are so wonderful. I'm very defensive because I've been ignored with my true issues and need for help from a service dog.
