Obviously we all have Fibro, but they always say everyone is different and that is true sometimes but the more I read here, the more I discover we are more alike than different.
I mean, I have to get up and walk around every so often because I just get stiff and then the just teeth grinding pain sets in.
Oh, and that too…I clench my jaws A LOT.
I keep being told I’m a shallow breather and sometimes stop all together, mostly when I’m in pain which is a bad habit to have and sucks that I don’t even realize I’m doing it. All the sudden I’ll hear John say, “Tina, breathe!” That’s when I realize what I’m doing. I’ve gotten better at it and have been trying deep breathing exercises but sometimes even that hurts!
Osteoarthritis, I’m 41 with a total hip replacement due to severe osteoarthritis. Now they want to replace the left one…but anyway.
I’m sure there are so many more, I know there are because I was just thinking about them and now poof they’re gone! OH! Fibro Fog!
Ok, shutting up for today…
Have a restful night all!
I can relate to all of this, totally. Haven't had any joints replaced, but have Psoriatic arthritis, the spondylitis type. Meaning it mainly targets the spine, so moving is important. I'm going to need SI joints replaced but don't; think they do that YET!
Now that you are aware of the teeth clenching, try to stop it or you will end up with something like cracked teeth or TMJ. I have worn all the grinders off my dentures, so chewing is a real chore!
My husband keeps finding me sleeping sitting up, leaning towards going out of the bed, and I thought about it and realize it is because of pain and stiffness of laying on my back. Can't side sleep for more than a few moments anymore, too much on the hips, and knees.
I feel you, girl! BTW, we have over 100 members in the sub-group Fibro and Arthritis. Just click on groups at the top of page, I have posted many new meds for OA recently.
Awesome! Thank you so much SK! I truly appreciate the advise about the Fibro & Arthritis group.
I know about the cracked teeth…yep! We are already there. I’ve been told I have pretty much destroyed my teeth, so we will be doing dentures probably within the year.
I also have the popping jaw…not sure if that’s TMJ, but it pops a lot and sometimes I have to like force it shut and open, like it gets stuck.
“leaning towards going out of the bed”? Aren’t you afraid of falling out of bed? I’d be tying myself to the bed or putting a tall dresser next to the bed!
I just fell in the bathroom, husband said he thinks I literally sommersaulted after falling asleep on the toilet, to have been in the position I was found. I have no memory of it, Dr in the ER said that was common for concussions! ha! Have new x-rays of entire left side of body and CT scan of head! Big knot still there from this happening on Mon, 29th.
I was overly exhausted, went to the Rheum, then out with Mom and granddaughter out to eat, shopping, out to eat again, all in the middle of home improvements, which I am getting a 2 week break from!
What a 'hot mess', huh? lol! No drugs in me either, was just wiped out!
omg SK! Poor thing! I have fallen asleep on the toilet as well…I usually wake up as I’m leaning forward though, you were TIRED for sure!
I can’t imagine the headaches you must be having…you are one tough chic, not a hot mess! I giggle when I see that because I ALWAYS used to say “hot mess”, might just have to bring it back around the house to describe how I’m feeling if John or the kids ask. LOL Take care of yourself girl! - No more sleeping on the commode!
i have seen similar things about fibro patients. i do agree that we r alike in many ways but the places we have pain and how we came to have fibro is different. also meds that help one person do nothing for someone else.
think of it like this if someone tells u they have a cold they dont have to tell u that they have a runny nose or stuffy nose, a cough. all they say is cold and u know what their symptoms are. with fibro it not like that.
yes most if not all of us seem to suffer with back pain but other places such as feet, hands, neck, hips ect. are different person to person. they is a list on this site with different symptoms i think i counted around 90 different things listed.
