I was just cruising around on the internet tonight and happened upon this page. I found another page that confirmed that the FDA approved a study in Mass. to begin in 2019. Has anyone else heard of this? I’m not a pro vaccine person, but this TB vaccine has been around for about 100 years, so I think we can assume it to be safe.

That article is very interesting. Apparently, the doctor believes that fibromyalgia is caused by protein abnormalities in the white blood cells, and they have a test to see if the abnormalities are present in the patient. They state that, if the abnormalities are present AND the cause of the fibromyalgia, it follows that the BCG vaccine will correct the abnormalities, and give the patient relief. Wouldn’t that be amazing!

Hi - I was interested in the TB Vaccine as a possibility for Fibromyalgia. I wonder if there would be a need for more than one injection of the vaccine for Fibro patients? You are correct this TB Vaccine has been around for 100 years or so. Since this study was done in 2019 have they made progress? I am going to see if I can find any updated information. I would be interested in this vaccine once it is categorized to help Fibro patients. I will keep my fingers crossed that something good happens in Fibro research. I hope you are staying safe and well as you can be.

I have no desire to take Vaccines for anything but tetnus if needed…
There is a lot to work with this Fibro dx and it’s so complex… It’s said Thyroid and FIBRO are connected, one’s thyroid has to be in good shape.

I have to tried to reach this lead physician by email, but I haven’t received a response. I may discuss this with my physician at some point. I will be going through the process of getting a new doctor soon. Mine is semi-retired at the moment. I really love him as my physician. He has been my GP for about 35 years. When my rheumatologist was retiring, my GP and I discussed whether he would be comfortable covering my fibro/ME issues. He’s been perfect. Since this silly pandemic, I haven’t even needed to contact him, so I’m not sure what his schedule is now. If I hear anything, I will let you know. 
Yeah, I’m with you on most vaccines. I do not take flu nor pneumonia vaccines. I’m ok with the tetanus vaccine too. The only reason I would agree to this one is because it’s been around so very long. I would rank it up there with the tetanus vac.
You’re right about the thyroid issues. Many patients see a crossover. I actually had a goiter at one time and was put on a low dose thyroid med for a while. They did a nuclear scan on me because my thyroid panel was always normal with this goiter. I ended up going to an endocrinologist since I was such a strange case. She said I could go off my medicine, and thank goodness, I’ve had no issues since. I think we fibro people are just strange creatures. 
Wouldn’t it? I’m still waiting to see if I get a reply from the lead doctor in this study. If not, I may ask my doctor for this test and send him the info.
By the way, I adore aussies! I was considering one, but none were available at the time. I ended up getting a cavachon (half king charles cavalier, half bichon). Sadie is such a sweetheart. Now I have a daughter in law who is allergic to dogs, so I’m thankful I have one that she’s not allergic to, but I still swoon when I see an aussie!

for fibro patients, which is honestly sad 
. Thank you for your input about retirement plans for your GP as I’ve had two great specialists retire.
