Continuous strep and lack of concentration

Good morning Friends! Just a brief recap....

I was diagnosed with Fibro a few months ago and it’s been a struggle getting my medication regulated. Finally with a cocktail of Lyrica, Cymbalta, and a muscle relaxer I am somewhat “normal”.

I still find myself losing concentration very easily and it’s hard for me to focus on tasks or conversations. For the past few weeks I have been battling strep throat and been on amoxicillin and penicillin (which I am finishing now) and cannot seem to beat it! I don’t know if repeat infections can be associated with the fibro or not, but it is not fun!

I don’t know if it is all the different medications or what, but I have a constant swimming feeling in my head. It continues to feel “light and flighty” in feeling and just a weird feeling of euphoria. It's not necessarily a bad feeling, however, I find it difficult to concentrate at work and tend to not get things done. Has anyone experienced any of these symptoms/feelings?

The euphoric feeling may be attributed to the meds, my guess would be Lyrica as the culprit. It may get better with a little more time and it'll go away, but do report it to your doc. Brain fog is a beast to kick. Again, the answer here is more time. Your doc may be able to adjust your meds as some point, but if you're getting giddy from them, that probably isn't an option right now. I had similar feeligngs with Lyrica when I was just diagnosed and the brain fog and euphoria evened out over time.

i'm sorry that you've been sick for so long. I haven't noticed any problems getting rid of infections since fibro came into my life. In fact, I rarely get sick. I know others on this board have reported being sick longer than they used to be. Maybe they'll repsond too? take care, and hope you feel better soon!
