Cymbalta anyone?

What dose was you on all of this stuff is so scary I wish I was strong enough to just live with the pain I’m sorry u had such a rough time

It was the pharmacist who advised me not to take this with Trazadone. I questioned the dr and he said “well if you feel like you can’t stand, walk or stay awake, go to the ER.” Really?!?!?
I am done with doctors for now. My PCP will refill the sleep and pain and muscle relaxers so I am trying other paths.
It was recommended to me to detox my house (cleaners, personal care items etc.) so I am giving that a try along with essential oils. Pain still everyday but I am alive!

I’ve been on Cymbalta for a few months now and it’s the first anti depressant that’s actually worked for me. It has helped some with pain as well. I’m on the 90 MG right though I take 60 in the morning and 30 at night to avoid some side effects. I don’t have insurance and so I use GoodRx to lower the price, right now I get it for $30 a month.

However not everyone responds the same, but you won’t know until you try. I think it’s worth it to keep trying until you find something that works.

I was taking 60mg of cymbalta combined with 150 mg of lyrica… i ended up in the hospital for 4 days bc of seizures! They still don’t know if the combo is what caused it bc after the first round of seizures, the dr took me off of it. I was still seizing every day and then i had one at work, got an ambulance called, and a hospital stay. But, on the plus side, it got me into a neurologist and a neurosurgeon super quick, lol.

I’ve tried Cymbalta twice, once before for a month and I just did not refill. After a horrid back attack a few weeks ago, I asked for Cymbalta again to see. Both times on Cymbalta, my appetite is totally gone. I have to make myself have any food. Many days, all I have is milk and like 1/2 cup of stew or oatmeal. And I am trying. When my appetite is normal, I usually eat all homemade stuff, lots of veggies, beans, low fat, and a tiny bit of low fat meat, but not all that crazy about any meat but brisket and low salt bacon. And I have been extremely tired the last few weeks.

I am bringing this back up because I have dealt with this the past couple of weeks. I am currently taking 60mg twice a day. I was given it for fibromyalgia, but it does absolutely nothing for my pain. It has helped with my depression. I changed doctors and two different doctors said that I should not be taking more than 60mg a day. They stated that there was no evidence to show that 120mg daily is beneficial or any evidence to show effects from 120mg daily. I told them I cannot get by on 60mg daily. It is like I am not taking anything and my depression just comes flooding back. So in conversation with the pharmacist they decided to allow me to stay on the 120mg.
I am going to say though it is HELL coming off. I ran out of the medication trying to change doctors and it was not good. Headaches, nightmares, I think I might have even had a small seizure. Some times I just do not know what to do. I was also taken off my pain meds, Tramadol. I was told you cannot take these together (of which I have been taking both together since 2015). So if you are taking both please look online or check with your doctor to make sure everything is okay with your care.

I have been taking Lyrcia and Cymbalta 60mg together since they were released. Also have been sweating profusely too just didn’t relate it too that. It has worked great. When the generic came out I switched to that and the ins. co. was very happy, you might try that.

I take Cymbalta. It worked well for me in the beginning. I’m going to ask my Doctor to increase my dosage. I’m sorry you’re having difficulties with your insurance. It’s a shame that health care has become so freakin’ expensive. You pay high premiums for it then have to fight to get it to cover something. I hope you get it resolved!!

Does Cymbalta affect your mood at all? My PCP removed me from Cymbalta and all her other patients because we were all experiencing problems with it. I was feeling depressed more. My ex on it became very depressed. It actually makes him suicidal. I feel like it’s a scary drug to be on. There are some people who feel fine with it. Hopefully you do just fine.

Hi,
I take cymbalta 30mg 1 tab twice daily. I was only taking 1 tab at night but when i went through my last flare I started getting really depressed so my PCP increased it to twice daily. I take that and neurontin. I had really bad side effects on lyrica. Hope you get it straightened out. Good luck!

I take Cymbalta, very like Lyrica.

I am on Lyrica and without one dose my fibro symptoms are uncontrollable. Cymbalta does affect the mood. My pcp did the same. I went to 60mg and then it still was giving me mood issues. It may work for people but you don’t realize how it affects your mood until you come off it.

I have been on Cymbalta and I felt no improvement, although we might not have tried it for a long enough time. My doctor just put me on Gabapentin, which I have been on before with no improvement but since I don’t know if I was on the maximum dose, we decided to try again. She prescribed Gabapentin 100 mg Caps, and I am to take it 3 times a day. I started last night, because it said it might make me dizzy or drowsy. This morning my muscles are very much improved. I can squeeze my forearm and it doesn’t hurt. I am hopeful. I know one day only says a little, but I am pleased.

Hi, I’m taking 60mg of cymbalta and gabapentin 300mg 3xday. From what my rheumatologist & PCP said I’m at the maximum dose of gabapentin. Idk if its helping, idk if i would feel worse than what i do if i were off the meds. I was on lyrica before gabapentin but i became very very forgetful and would get confused easily and someone in this group talked about those adverse effects of lyrica and i contacted my doc and she had me stop lyrica asap. I dont have those symptoms with gabapentin just my usual fibro fog.

I’m on Lyrica 150mg twice a day and now Prozac 20 daily. The profuse sweating has stopped. I have never had the confusion you described, but do loose words. The only time things get really bad confusion etc. fibro-fog is when I am super super tired. I feel much better mentally on Prozac.

Im glad you don’t have the symptoms I had on Lyrica. Yabi have noticed that too…about the fibro fog being worse when you are tired and for me also when the pain is just too much. I haven’t tried prozac.i was on xanax though but i got off of those i learned to deal with my anxiety on my own and plus i was tired of taking alll the pills i was prescribed.

I take Xanax only when I need to which is rarely now that I am on the Prozac. Yes, taking pills is a drag and I hate taking any at all but when I remember how I felt before pills and my quality of life now I’ll take a couple of them. All together I for heart, thyroid, and 2 fibromyalgia oh yes a vitamin. Not too bad I guess. Then the Xanax if and when

Lol! Yep not bad at all. I take 2 for fibro, then tramadol & muscle relaxer as needed, 1 vit D pill wkly, folic acid daily, another pill to help with migraines…i think thats it lol…i remember in my 20s and 30s i rarely got sick & didn’t take any meds and rarely took Tylenol. Ahhhh…Those were the days…
