i was on both but they didnt help me
300mg Lyrica twice a day and 60mg Cymbalta once a day is helping me. I was hesitant about Cymbalta at first but it has definitely helped with the pain. I still have some and the fatigue but I'm way more functional with this combination. Hope this helps you!
Hi Carol. I am on both, but like QP, I am not sure they helped me much long term. The lyrica made me sleepy and more foggy, and I believe it changed how I felt my pain, from burning pain, now it is dull and achey. With the Cymbalta I felt better the very next day. And more improved with dose increases.
To summarize, try the Cymbalta, and once you adjust to it (a month or two), see if you need the Lyrica. Of course, talk to your doc about that first. Good luck.

Hi, I have all that you have except the lupus. I have taken the two together and found the Lyrica made me very tired, foggy minded and actually fell asleep on my way to work one morning. I was very lucky that I was driving through a small town on the way and had a wreck. Luckily I was fine and only broke off one tire and wheek. After that episode I had dr take me off the Lyrica. I still take cymbalta and do ok with that. I still hurt so much but won't risk having another wreck. My dr also has me on fentanyl 75 patch that I change every 2 days. That helps alot. I currently take lyrica 300mg twice a day and cymbalta 90mg daily (both at maximum dosage)
This combination is the best I have had since i was diagnosed with fm and CFS 6 yrs ago - however, although I am reluctant to alter my medication as i realise that my pain/fatigue will only increase and leave me in even more pain & more disabled than I already am, these two drugs still donot leave me pain free and fully functioning.
All I can say is that this combination helps me - somewhat!!! So if you have tried many of the other medications prescribed for your pain and have had no relief, then this combination might be worth trying.
I apologise if my explanation sounds abit confusing, but I am in the midst of a flare so nothing is working properly - particularly my brain…
Hello. I am on both and have been for about 2 years. It has helped. I take 90mg of Cymbalta and I need to check on the Lyrica. I take both at night. I still have flares but doing good.
HI, I was not on Cymbalta because when they tried that years ago, it made my BP spike. Two years ago they gave me Lyrica, and I swelled up and was in .anaphylactic shock. I spent three days in the hospital, and never took it again. Just felt you should know.

Hi. I was on both and found them incredibly helpful, especially the Lyrica. However due to major vision impairment I had to stop the Lyrica. I finally found something that worked and can’t take.it. So frustrating. Now am just on Cymbalta with oxycotin for severe pain. I have many other issues besides fibro and arthritis and was finally diagnosed in 1997.

I agree with Heather. I do not have all your symptoms but Cymbalta has worked well for me. You have to be real careful with drug interactions with Cymbalta - I took an over the counter sinus/allergy pill one night and was up for hours wondering if I needed to call 911. I have been very careful since then. Heather mentioned trying the Cymbalta for a month or two and then see if you need the Lyrica. Praying you find a workable solution soon.

Hello, Carol. Cymbalta worked for me with brain function and some reduction in pain, however, it caused a great deal of weight gain so I decided to stop using it. I am currently researching natural remedies, in addition to meditation and yoga and will report back if they are successful.
I could only use Lyrica for a few weeks due to vision impairment and didn't notice any relief in that short period.

I was on Lyrica years ago for nerve pain I had in one foot, it made all my fingers swell so doc took me off it. Recently tryed Cymbalta no help for me. Hope it works for you!!
I have been on both at one point for a short period of time. The Lyrica helps, but I didn't see an improvement when Cymbalta was added. I have Fibro., A pos. ANA, but no Lupus YET, foraminal stenosis, etc...I would say most anything is worth a shot. Good Luck!
Hi! I’ve been on both for four months now and they have helped me a lot! I was on amitritryptiline and gabapentine and they didn’t worked as well as cymbalta/lyrica combo. Now, I also take magnesium, vitamin D, B complex and C. For sleeping I’m taking Halcion and melatonin. I don’t have a negative experience so far, I hope this help you 
I truly wish I could say something positive about these 2 drugs as I've tried them both and had very adverse reactions. The Lyrica made me soooo depressed & the Cymbalta had be stumbling, staggering around like a drunken sailor (think that's the right expression ?) Basically...I could NOT function even 1/4 normal on either of these drugs even when the dosage was lowered..
That being said--I note that many people on this site have good results so most likely worth a TRY for you. I too have Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, stenosis & scoliosis. Plus throw in a badly botched back surgery that has 'blessed' (HA) me with mega pain for over 25 years. Also am a post polio victim.
All I am able to take now is Elavil, Ibupropen & on REALLY bad days....medical marijuana. I know exactly how you feel in regards to TRY anything to get rid of the horrible pain. I hope your Dr. finds something to give you relief Carol.

Has anyone had experience with the nausea side effect of Cymbalta? It worked great for me, except for the nausea. I was only on 30mgs, maybe it would get better at a higher dose? It wasn't the kind of nausea you could just live with, it was first trimester pregnancy with the stomach flu and food poisoning kind of nausea.
Lyrica works fairly well for me. I tried the Cymbalta and I passed out and fell and broke a rib. I think it may have lowered my blood pressure. I hope it works well for you. Good luck and best wishes. Stacey
