Cymbalta! help?

I was on cymbalta initially for depression at 30mg. The doc increased the dose to 60mg when he suspected I had fibro. I had been to the doc with horrible welts all over my body that itched like crazy, unrelated to my fibro so he told me. I decided on my own to wean myself off it and didn’t suffer any withdrawal issues. But low and behold the horrible welts and itching miracously disappeared. My doc never even suggested it could be related but it was apparent it was. I suffered the welts for over a year, scabs all over my body. It was awful. I am so glad I decided to get rid of it! It’s horrible for your liver too. I was able to get my cymbalta at the time for free on a free assistance program by the manufacturer because I have no health insurance.

i have been on it for over a year. i take 90mgs b 4 bed. i do have issues with sweating and dry mouth. i did wean myself off at one point cause i waas running out and i get it free from the company and the person who takes care of all that forgot to get a new application in on time.

b 4 i weaned myself off i thought it wasnt working at all for the pain. well i was wrong cause wwhile i was off it i had a flare up and i had never hurt like that. i dont think is works great but it dose work for me. i am thinking of trying lyrica ontop of it to see if that helps but i havent had time to get back to the dr about it.

as far as the study goes i would try it if i were u. i did read through the replies and some r scary i agree but u have to keep in mind that we all r effected differently by each drug. u will find stories like these about lyrica and sevella. no one person can know how they will be effected. so i would try it and if the side effects r too bad then stop taking it. but remember to wean off any drug that tells u not to stop taking it. stoping alot of the drugs we take cold turkey can do real damage.

i wish u the best of luck

If you dont mind me asking, what do you take for pain? I was taking gen Lortab but when mixed with the Cymbalta (I also take 60) I had some crazy seizing in my hands and feet. So my Dr is trying the usual Gapapentin, Flexeril, nothings working well enough... Tramadol worked perfectly for every symptom, but I had to take like 8 a day! And that cant be good, cause it'll be 10 a day next year, them 13 and so on...

I take it, 60 mg, and it helped a bunch. It's def no magic pill though, it took me from a 3 to a 6!... And it is very expensive, I have no insurance so I pay 240/mo for it, but in July '13 the generic will become available, so that'll help. I maybe do have a little extra sweating, but I'm in Florida, so it's nothing unusual. :> Good luck!

I take cymbalta for my fibro and depression. Seems to help with the depression and some help with the fibro. I was getting samples from my PCP because I could not afford to buy it. Right now I am getting it for FREE from the drug company. They have a program for low income people, I also get my oxcycontin, abilify, lidoderm patches for free from the companies. Something some of you may want to look into. I sweat constantly, especially if it is warm in the house or outside and I am doing anything. I just thought it was from the pain meds. I do notice if I miss a dose or two, the sweating gets worse.
