I just saw this for the first time today and it brought tears to my eyes. So thankful for any understanding we receive. Please take a minute to watch.
Awesome video. Everyone should read it and show it to your family. The doctor on the show really explains what we all say everyday very well. And since she holds a big title, they may actually listen.
My sister told me about this but I hadn't seen it.She and her husband watched it together and said they found it very informative. You're so right...ANYamout of recognition or public awareness is exactly what we need. I read that MS was thought to be an illness that was imagined until the 1960's or 70's(I read it a couple months ago). Imagine...The more attention this disease gets the better. Thank you Dr.Phil! Finally!!
I saw that as well, and I had a sigh of relief that he talked about it, giving those suffering validation that this is real. I am just waiting to see something like this discussed about lupus and those of us suffering from lupus can express what we go through.
Happy to see this. We need to get more out there. As much as my family says they understand, I still get the comments, “you’re sick again” "you never feel good"
I am thankful fort humor because without it, I would just cry.
You are all so right - no matter how much our families and friends try to understand, it makes it so much better when someone like Dr. Phil talks honestly about it from the patient's point of view and with a specialist in this disease. Personally I was somewhat disappointed in the Dr. Oz program on Fibro because I felt it was little more than a ratings ploy. This one actually gets into true details and not Sensationalism. I think all any of us want is to have this illness recognized as true and real. Fightergirl - you are so right about MS. Many illnesses were misunderstood and doubted in the beginning.
Dr. Phil’s show helped re- validate my fibro as a real syndrome for my partner. He is very supportive but friends/family of those with fibro do need periodic reminding from a third party source.
So glad to watch this… Awareness is so important.
I feel almost afraid to send it to my husband
Hello Linnie!
I’ ve missed you! Was glad to see your blogs again, I have always enjoyed them.
Though brief. I feel this was fairly well done. It should definitely help raise awareness and will hopefully make others a bit more understanding.
Glad you are feeling a bit better!
Wishing you well,
SK
Thanks so much SK. I am trying to work my way back out of the hole I found myself in. :-) I agree it was brief - I would love to see a comprehensive discussion with several experts. We can hope. Take care and thanks again. Love and Hugs,
Linnie
