Feeling like I have hit rock bottom

I am in so much pain. The worst I have ever felt. I went camping with my family and got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and I fainted and woke up and had no idea what happened. When I awoke I realized I had urinated. I am still shakey and weak. Im going to have some tests done today. My back and hips hurt so much. I am scared and worried.

Tiffany, I am sorry you are in such pain. I know when I overdo things I can feel faint and shaky, so I wonder if perhaps the trip was a bit too much for you? It is good you are getting tests done to be sure other things aren’t going on with you. Remember please try not to worry yourself, as difficult as it can be, as stress can exacerbate symptoms. I find distracting myself with other pleasant things can help with redirecting anxiety as can soothing baths. Please keep us posted on your test results.
Hugs,
Laurie

Thanks Laurie, It’s definitely hard to keep strong when I’m this stressed out but I’m doing my best. I wish I could take a bath but I have a halter monitor on right now so the next best thing for me is music. Thanks for the support I really need it right now. I’ll try to give some updates soon. <3 Tiffany

Hi Tiffany, I agree with Laurie, I find that when I overdo it I am really shaky and unstable. I am glad you are getting in touch with your doctor, it is always a good idea to keep your medical team involved in what is going on. I hope today is a better day for you. Please keep us updated. I am sending you gentle hugs for a low pain day!

Thanks Auburnm, I have been pushing myself hard today even though I am totally exhausted, that’s all I can do. All I can think is that tomorrow is another day.<3 Tiffany

Hi Tiffany.

That sounded like one scary experience! You are to be commended for keeping your cool enough to get up and back to camp safely. Fainting like that is definately one if the most concerning experiences that I can think of when it comes to what we are dealing with. Not knowing what happened is maddening, I would think, so GOOD FOR YOU for going back to the doctor to find out what happened.

I do agree with the other ladies that being stressed and tired can make us feel weak and shaky. Carrying a cane is one way to reduce falls. It really does help, too.

Do your back and hips hurt from the fall? Or have they been hurting all along? If it's the latter, mine do too and have for many years, thank so fibro. So that pain might be fibro-related, with something like RA or osteoarthritis being the root cause.

Please let us know how you made out, okay? It certainly is concerning to faint and fall!

Hugs and good wishes,

Petunia

Thanks for your support I’m do glad to have this forum so I can get stuff of my chest.HUGS

This may sound trite, but I watch a “Friends” episode on Netflix - they are 22 minutes long, so not too much overload, and usually elicit a laugh or two. Nicely distracting, and lets me rest physically too. I did this yesterday when I was desperate, and somehow it interrupted the tears long enough for me to get a handle on it. I hope you feel better soon.

marlakc, No judgment here. Good for you for developing a strategy and taking a proactive approach. I like to watch silly, cute cat videos to cope through stress and difficult pain. I also like kitten or baby animal cams. To each his or her own.
Hugs,
Laurie
