thank you!!!!!
idk what an AVM is, but i'm praying for you! and yw! hope it helped!
Hi cookie,
Thank you cookie :). To keep it short. An arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a cluster of blood vessels that have no corpuscles. The danger of them is similar to having a bunch of aneurysms in one location. They can occur anywhere but, the most common area is in the brain. They also vary in size and they can grow to get pretty large. The blood vessel walls of an avm is thinner that what a healthy blood vessel is. For obvious reasons, the biggest fear of an avm is if it bleeds. But also, because there are no corpuscles. That area of the brain doesn't get the amount of oxygen it needs (or none) and brain cells tend to die off.
My last medical report said I have an 86% chance of it bleeding in my sleep. That was 6 years ago... What do they know? (LOL)
My fibromyalgia is a result of the radiation I had to treat it back in 2007 (it didn't get it all). It left me with some brain damage that effects my nerves and the muscles. Hence, chronic pain all through my body now. With the exception of my stomach muscles. At least something was spared, huh (ha ha).
Sorry for the lengthy comment. I guess I got a little winded. I must have had too much coffee. :)
Ben
I believe in seeing the eye dr too. Sight is such a precious gift, we tend to take it for granted.
I had no idea myself, so this is news to me. It doesn't surprise me at because I've needed glasses since I was a teenager and every time I see the eye doctor I also hear "you need stronger glasses". When I was 22, before I knew I had fibromyalgia I was very upset when they told me that I needed bifocals. I was more angry because 'how could anyone need bifocals at 22 years old?!' is the way I looked at it. My mother was surprised herself because although bad eyesight is genetic in my family, she herself didn't need bifocals until she was well into her 40s. My astigmatism and near and far sightedness has steadily deteriorated over the years and once I have insurance again I am going to give in and just get the bifocals. Also I have problems with losing my eyes sight for 5-10 minutes at a time. The only way I can describe it is my sight becomes milky. Does that sound anything like what you experience?
Thank you for this information! I plan to discuss this with my family doctor at my next appointment.
