Fibro flare?

I’m laying here trying to sleep… Hours after taking meds, can’t take more for a few hours. I can’t get away from pains, my knees are burning, have stabbing pain, like hot pins in my hips, even my teeth hurt…
Is this a flare, or in my head? I want to cry but I don’t have the energy. Feeling really down and frustrated. Grrrr!

Sonja,

I am guessing you have been to see a doctor because you are taking meds.

The pain you are having is very similar to mine.

Today, doctors ( neurologists ) are starting to realize that Fibromyalgia is a central nervous system disorder. More and more people are experiencing moderate to severe nerve pain. I have it in my feet, arms, legs, face ad hand.

You must see a neurologist to get you the right meds, but even then so, it doesn't completely take it all away. But, it will quell it down enough for you to function. Keep at them to help you. It's a tough, tough battle but you can do it.

Take very warm baths and buy some turmeric capsules for the inflammation.

Hang in there. We are all struggling but each day, victorious. - Barber Girl

Hello Barber girl,

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows what Fibromyagia is. What works for some doesn't work for others, trial and error is getting the meds that suit you. In my experience no meds will take away all the pain. I think it is about developing a better relationship with your pain, using relaxation, mindfulness, pacing, and perhaps some gentle exercise. i am exploring tai chi at the moment. There are groups on here you might like to join, that may help you. The sleep thing is obviously really important, I still struggle with that, but you need to find what works for you. Wish you well, and let us know how you get on

Take care, Anne
