Flu Shots, Feet and Fibro

Hey Guys! I've stopped taking the Cymbalta now and I'm surviving! I still have the same pain etc. but I don't think I'm as far along with this as many of you are : ( I honestly think a lot of this was brought on with the flu shot of 2012. I had a friend die from the flu just this past
February, she was 49, I still will not get the shot ever again!! My exercise has taken a big backseat but I am now thinking that Yoga might be best. I really like reading the ideas that you all have regarding this crazy & hurtful phenomenon!
P.S. Does anyone have a quick fix for neuropathy in feet? I'm a hairstylist on top of it all! What luck! Feet at night...what can I do/

Hi Andrea,

I am kind of blown away by the death of your friend from the flu. That's truly horrible. In 2014 you would think that no one would die from flu anymore. Maybe the shot caused it or perhaps the flu strain was new and stronger than past strains. Whatever the reason, I'm sure sorry about your friend.

Is there a reason that you've discontinued your Cymbalta? Are you getting off it a bit at a time? If you don't it can cause problems for you. Not for everyone but quite a few people find this to be true.

Yoga or tai chi might benefit you. There are also exercises for seniors that are on tape and they are pretty doable. Some even are done sitting down. i used to do this with the seniors I worked with. They liked it as it made them feel better. It might be helpful to you as well.

Foot neuropathy should be seen by your doctor. Is it due to diabetes? I'm sorry but the term "foot neuropathy" is raising red flags for me, and those flags are saying, "should be seen by a medical profession. Not something that can be messed around with." Lyrica is used for neuropathy as well as fibro pain. I don't know if you're on it or not. You might want to talk to your doctor about Lyrica and foot neuropathy.

My sympathy to you for working on your feet all day when you have this problem! I hope your doctor can find some meaningful relief for you.

Hugs,

Petunia
