I am very happy with the way my Fibro was addressed. But I also have Trigeminal Neuralgia and I feel as if it really wasnt addressed. This is causing me excruciating pain on top of the Fibro. My question to all of you is, as this is my first visit, do you think they are just addressing one issue at a time?
I go back to the Neuro in five weeks, so it is not too far away, but I feel let down. They did all the tests, referred me to massage, more PT, a urologist, recommended that my doc changed my pain meds-praise God, and did blood work.
I was planning on mentioning it assertively next visit, because this is something that needs to be dealt with. but I would like some feedback please.
This seems unbelievable to me, that something as serious as TN was ignored. I would come right out and tell this Dr that you feel let down that this was not addressed or acknowledged, and ask him to respond. Of course it helps to be able to do this nicely, but might as well qualify this Dr now to see if they are going to take care of you.
Perhaps the pain med change was to see if you get better relief? Unfortunately we never seem to get all the answers we need at one time. I sometimes think that they don't want to over-load us with too much information at one time, especially if it is not positive.
I guess I would say that this Dr has one more chance.
Thats exactly what I was thinking too. Im planning on getting pretty pushy next time. I almost wonder though when it comes to TN, how educated a doctor is. It seems that alot of doctors dont know what it really is. In all my research on it, it consistently says it gets worse with time. This doc said that it SHOULD get better? At least there are other docs in this particular clinic.
