Happy time!

I just have to share my joy with you all, I have been outside most of the day. I have a greenhouse I love, so I worked in there a bit , went for a ride on the quad, found it very hard to operate because my hands are so bad. But I did what I could and now I am tired but so happy. This is the first really nice day we have had for a long, long time. Just wanted to share something good ..tomorrow I will probably hurt, but one day at a time right.

I hope some of you are having a good Sunday with not too many hurts.

Gentle Hugs
Vicky

Hi Vicky, your day sounds soo wonderful  I have also noticed with the beautiful sunshine a bit more energy… I’m scared to see how I will feel tomm, but it’s worth it to have my spring clean up started.

Thanks for sharing… I smile thinking about you enjoying the quad

Hey Vicky!

Good for you! I am always up for anyone sharing the happy times in their life! I'm so glad that we are still well enough to have a good day or even just a few happy moments, even if we have to pay for it the next day or three!

I know that I need to get out and walk around, just don't have it in me yet, and the weather is still cool and damp most times, but I am looking forward to it!

I hope that you have many more happy days ahead!

Wishing you well,

SK

Congrats on your day out, Vicky! Working with plants is always so satisfying and today was the perfect day to do it, blue sky and sunshine and some warmth. I helped my sis with yard work: raking and weeding. Hate to think of how tomorrow will feel but today is satisfying. So I know how you're feeling right now. (Satisfied grin.)

Is a quad a motorized wheel chair or scooter? They are a bit hard to get used to. I've managed to knock over an entire display of small salamies at the supermarket, which was TERRIBLY embarrassing! And, I mean, if one wanted to read something into that, heh, they could say that I was wanting some...salami.

Feel well, my friend,

Petunia

Hi Vicky,

I meant to tell you that my husband built a greenhouse here a few years ago. The man we bought the house from was in the window replacement business, and he asked my husband if he wanted a stack of windows, and my husband jumped at this offer, and used them for the sides and ceiling. He did a pretty good job! It's nice to have a handy man around, and nice to have a greenhouse!

I am sure you get a lot of joy in your greenhouse, and raise some beautiful flowers and vegetables! My husband even made some raised beds that are real back savers!

My 2 grandsons went with me to the local nursery last year, I told them to choose the flowers, and when we got home, I told them they could plant them any place they liked. It was the most magnificent flower garden to date!

We have a little strawberry patch for them, we had an existing concord grapevine that was on a light weight, store bought trellis that was not strong enough or large enough, so he built a beautiful arbor, and added several other different kinds of grapes. He also built sprinkler systems for most every area that needs to be watered, he still needs to do the front of the house, but the kids like to rinse the grapes, strawberries, tomatoes, radishes right there and eat them out where they picked them! They think it's the greatest! Of course just tell me of a kid that did not like to play in water!

Hope you are having another good day, we are looking at rain everyday except one out of the next seven!

Hi Vicky - so glad you had a good day! It's wonderful when this happens - isn't it? There are many things I can't do right now - but I have retained some of my hobbies. I used to jet ski all the time, was a diver, loved to swim, horseback riding and jumps and so on. I miss it - but I know my limitations now and when I have a good day - I feel like you do! Hugs! Laurie

Oh a greenhouse, how lucky! Alas I can't do much gardening in my apartment, but I did plant a couple tomato starts today for my deck, hoping to get a good bunch of em this year so I can freeze some; I can only eat heirloom tomatoes due to acid sensitivity, and they're PRICY in stores.

It's warm as heck here in Oregon, almost too warm! I hope you don't pay too badly for your day of fun!

That's so wonderful Vicky! So glad you had a beautiful day to lighten your load. It's amazing what a little sunshine can do for us. I hope you have many more good days ahead.

Oh Vicky, that sounded like a great day! I'm so glad that you got to enjoy it. We've got to grab those good days by the horns, like you did, and make the most of them. Working in a greenhouse sounds wonderful. I sure wish I had your green thumb. But even being outside and doing a little bit of gardening work, like weeding, is rewarding. What is it about the feel of the earth that calms one and makes one even feel some sort of spiritual connection? I've missed doing gardening. I'm glad you got the chance to do it. Spring is finally here, helping us to feel a bit better. That's very uplifting, along with your posting.

That sounds like heaven (not the last sentence, mind you.) What a great way/place to bond and to teach young-uns new skills/responsibilities. Will you be planting this year, SK? Or having the grand kids get it up and running? I wish I could do the vegetable garden like my dad used to. And when we first moved to our current house, the neighbor behind us was an Italian-American who put in beautiful gardens. But he moved and our new Muslim neighbors don't seem interested in that possibility. Oh well. It was so much fun to watch the plants grow. And your home-made grapes and strawberries are ever so inviting!
