Has Anyone Used Trazodone for a Long Time and Experienced Back Pain from Using It?

My question is the same as I stated in the subject line.

I have used Trazodone for MANY years, typically 300mgs per day. I am experiencing horrific lower back pain. No specialist has been able to determine the cause. I believe that the back pain is somewhat related to having Fibromyalgia, but, more so, I believe it is neurological issue. I, however, do wonder if my long-term use of Trazodone is exacerbating the pain. If you have experienced pain from the usage of Trazodone, please reply. Many thanks!

I have used trazodone for years. I have very bad lower back pain. But I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, Sjögren’s, sciatica both sides and stenosis. I have a lot of muscle spasms too. Why so you think your back pain is related to the trazodone?

**i also have small and large fiber neuropathy. So I’m always in pain. **

Dghartz1, I do not have an answer for you. I just was wondering if the usage of Trazodone, (for about 10 years, maybe more), could cause lower back pain as it seems that when I use more, (I typically use 300mgs per day but upon occasion, 450mgs), my back hurts more.

Please accept my apology for not getting back to you until just now.

I am very sorry that you suffer! I am sorry that you always have pain!

Thank you for your reply!

I will be leaving the group, btw, as I receive too many emails from group members and cannot keep up with them.

Sincerely,

JES

Dear Nmns1976,

I had thought that I had replied to your reply! Hmm! I guess not! My apologies for not getting back to you until just now.
Yes, I have had back injuries before. I used to be extremely athletic and was involved with MANY different sports. I had falls when skiing, rollerblading, x-c skiing, ice skating, and many other types of sports. I had a very hard fall off of a horse! Yowser!

The pain, very possibly, could have started from having been so very active and having had many falls.

I am sorry that Trazodone did not help you to sleep! When I, initially, started using it, I slept. No longer, though. It no longer helps me to sleep.

I am glad that the medications that you are using helps you to pinpoint your actual pain. Xanax, indeed, can help one to sleep!

I am like you: I have tried many medications and they just make me feel worse pain or very foggy.

I am sorry that you are experiencing pain. Pain is so cruel.

I, btw, will be leaving this group as I receive way too many emails from members and can’t keep up with them.

May you, at some point in your life, be free of pain!

Sincerely,

JES
