Hi! I am new to this site. I am a mother of two and a wife. I was just recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Although I have had the symptoms since I was 15. I am struggling with the depression due to I can’t do what I love because of the fatigue and the pain.
I am hoping to find some friends and support.
Hi Paula,
I totally understand. Lots of support here. If you need anything, just give a shout out.
Hoping you have great doctors that are getting you thru the depression, fatigue and pain.

This is one of the few places that I come to often. M
Welcome Paula I am glad you joined! Fibro can definitely be scary especially at first. You might have to modify how you do some things and lifestyle but Fibro symptoms can be managed. It takes patience and willingness to try different things to find the right combination that works for you. I encourage you to check out the Fibro 101 guide, it has good information. Also, in the Positive Pick-Me-Ups section, there is a discussion on cutting corners creatively that is very useful. Again welcome! Hugs!!!
hi Paula.. welcome and HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS to you. i will see you another time as i just stopped in to say hi....all the best to you

Hi Paula
Learning different ways to do things can be very helpful. I struggle with the fatigue but by learning to pace myself I have found things get done and I am able to do more. Depression is horrible and a struggle for most of us. Finding the right combination of meds and relaxing techniques is very helpful. Children are wonderful and bring great joy. I look forward to getting to know you.
Hi, Paula, & welcome! It is hard to have an illness that prevents you from doing a lot of things that you love to do. I think it is key to learn to pace yourself. I can still do most things that I love to do. Just not all at once! Gardening & taking care of my chickens-we have a farm & I love it. I know when my body tells me that I need to take a break & rest, that is what I need to do & I rest for a minute. Sometimes I have to rest longer–I just have to pace myself. That wouldn’t even work if I did not have a great PCP that listens to me & helps me by monitoring if my meds are doing the work they are supposed to do. I get enough pain relief to function & I have a full time job along with our farm. Paula, I certainly hope that you have a good doctor that you trust. As far as the depression goes, while it can go along with FMS, it doesn’t have to. At least not really really bad. Do you have a good doctor that is helping to treat you for the pain & depression? I hope you do and that you will feel much better soon! HUGS from Deb
