Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone!

I am so glad I found this group. I was just recently diagnosed and am in desperate need of a group such as this. I am 52 years young and have had issues throughout the years that none of my doctors had ever attributed to Fibro. I have Hypothyroidism, Metabolic Disorder, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Asthma, Sleep Apnea, high cholesterol, chronic gastritis, chronic hip & back pain from an old injury, carpel tunnel, TMJ & various household & environmental allergies.

I have always noticed the connection between my pain level & emotional state & had addressed this with various doctors through the years but was disregarded. However, this year has been the worst ever. I have had added stress at work and at home (my husbands health, he will be fine but I keep stressing over it) have thrown me into a flare that had caused so many issues it could no longer be ignored. I discussed it with my PCP (& cried on her shoulder) and told her I didn’t care what we called it I just wanted to feel better. She agreed that action needed to be taken & we started trialing meds, etc. By my second visit she told me that I had convinced her that I had Fibromyalgia. The meds have helped but I don’t think we are at my final dosages or final meds (well final for now).

I enjoy photography (especially architecture & nature photography), reading, landscaping (designing beds, hardscapes, etc), various crafts and am learning to quilt.

Thanks for accepting me into the group & reading my story.

Lizzy

Lizzy,

Welcome. I'm sure that you will find support and help here. There is a lot of information here, but be sure to task with your doctor before changing anything.

Welcome Lizzy,

You're in good company here. Hold on things will improve now that you know where you are going. I share your interest in crafts. Mostly painting and the fiber arts. I've been hand quilting since I was a child. Kathy.

I'm 51 and I was diagnosed 4 years ago. I found the best thing is movement. It's so hard some days I just wanna sleep and some days I do. It seems no one around me really understands. I hope we can chat soon.. let's set a day and date!

Hi Lizzie! Welcome to a community of people who understands you and don’t think you are crazy or a baby. I am so glad you have a doc you can talk to and cry with. To me that is awesome.

Hello Lizzie! Welcome to the group! Look forward to getting to know you and hope that you make lots of friends on here! It's good that you have a doctor that you can talk to. I know it's hard to find a doctor who will believe you. Some of them have a tendency to think that it's all in your head. But don't you give up! Everyone here can relate in some way or another. Keep your chin up, never give up, and never give in! Gentle hugs to you!

Kimberly, I would love to chat with you. Most evenings are good with me, after 7:00.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it!
