Hello The answers to some questions we have been asked

Hello every one

Several members have asked some questions so i thought it would be good to remind the group

Gifts at the end of leaving a message or if someone has a birthday you will see a leave gift if you click on this it will take you to the gift page i think one is free the rest cost credits if you choose one with credits click on it and it will tell you how to pay.

Their is also a BensFriends shop where their ate tee shirts coffee cups and things it can be found under members services

We have several members who read post and blogs it gives them contact with other people and with some this is their only contact due to illness

We have a birthday group and a greater group if you would like to join

Since doing the birthday greetings i have received several emails from people letting me no how special this was to them as they have very limited contact with people and for some this was the only birthday wish they got so if you can help send greetings please do

If you can think of any thing else let me no and i will try and answer it or find the answer for you

Hi

I’m new to the group and live in England.

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but how do I know if I’m talking to someone in England or the USA?

The ONLY reason I’m asking is because of the difference in medications available and our benefits system.

I’ve always had a huge fascination with all things American but sady have never visited :frowning:

My fantasy is to visit the Statue of Liberty and go shopping in New York. Sadly I don’t think that will ever happen.

I in no way mean to cause any offence to anyone American. Quite the opposite I think you’re all fab

Many thanks

Lu x

Most people dont mind your asking. also on thier page under the pic some people have where they are from. Welcome to the group I hope your are enjoying being here. I live in Alabama in the US

Welcome LuLu61

Welcome to our wonderful Family. I've only been a member just over a month and take my word for it when I say...THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION WHEN IT COMES TO FIBROMYALGIA. There are so many weird symptoms with this illness and when you read the discussion titles, you'll sometimes see "Does anyone have this....???(odd symptoms)" You would be surprised at some of the things... and every time, there are responses from other members saying "Yes.I thought I was the only one! Phew...I'm not crazy after all!" And believe me, I've asked my share.Being newly diagnosed, there are a lot of question that just can't be answered by anyone other than a fellow sufferer.

I live in Canada and even though the U.S. is just a boarder away, there are differences in medications...the names can be a bit different and even availability of doses can vary. I do see some Canadians here but I think the majority are From the U.S.

So feel free to ask questions, vent your feelings. You'll find that the people here are very loving and hugely supportive.

Hugs

Carolyn

hi lu ~ i am so glad you are on here with us! i was raised on Long Island in New York and so was given the gift of seeing all things "New York." it is an exciting but very expensive city...and you would not like living there i don't believe. the pace of life is very fast.

this is a place for YOU to tell us what is going on with you, how you are feeling physically and emotionally. anything that is on your mind is OK. try to draw comfort from a group that are all bonded together by a single but very difficult illness,

i am 72...last saturday..and have been in a flare all week. it has become an almost chronic condition so i am getting very WEAK. i go to a physical therapist, but sometimes i do the exercises and go right back into flare.

i live in Oregon in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. there are wonderful snow capped mountains here.

anyway, i am so glad to meet you. please stay in touch and SHARE....hugs, annie

hi PB ~ this is ALL good information. i still do not know how to find my page!! right now i am so discouraged and depressed because i am down so often with flare that i am losing muscle tone. i just turned 72 but look so much younger...thank God. i wish my body felt younger. perhaps i have to increase my meds so i don't get so weak that i cannot ever regain my strength.

the illness has isolated me almost completely, but this week in desperation i called the council on aging and got a wonderful caregiver who will be available to help me when needed. the was such a blessing!! i haven't met a single friend in sisters, OR in the almost two years i have been here.

thank you for explaining about the gifts....the birthday wishes were soooooo special!!!! thank you everyone. all i have is my son and daughter in law in Georgia. they are expecting a little girl in september, and i am already worried about how i will endure the flight across country. i use a wheel chair in the terminals. it will have to be by the grace of God i think. right now thinking about this little one is light and life to me.

anyway, thank you for explaining things, and please let me know how to find my page and that of others.

hugs, annie

Thank you!

Hello,

Wish you a happy Easter…

I enjoy reading the posts when I have time and have found some of the information very useful.

It’s great to know that I am not alone in this day to day struggle …though it saddens me greatly that their are so many off us who are suffering. And struggling and living with A squatter An uninvited intruder named fibromyalgia …

I was disappointed that I didn’t appear to recive a Birthday greeting on the 13th April. But Ikea remembered me HahaHa …

Hi lulu. I’m in America, I’ve never been to the Statue of Liberty, I’ve seen it from afar, but never close up. I have been shopping
tho, it’s crazy busy, people everywhere (something I’m not used too) I really I’m not happy with large crowds, and do to the medical issues I don’t have the energy any longer to navigate the rat race…your really not missing much in my opinion. Lol. Oh by the way welcome. I’m sorry that should have been the first thing I said. Anyway keep in mind I’m from America and I will tell you things we use here from my perspective. And will help you in any way I can. I have a very close friend who has friends in England, he tells me all the time of the differences across the pond. Anyway I’ll help you…have a great day and again, welcome
