I'm happy to be a part of this site. I have been suffering with various ailments for the last 12 years and was finally diagnosed 3 months ago when I took a big down turn. My symptoms now are constant chronic pain in my back and hips that just never seems to go away. I have trouble walking distances further than my car on the driveway and back because of a constant grinding pain in the base of my spine. It feels lie my hip bones and spine are grinding with every step I take. I never get a good nights sleep unless I take a sleeping tablet and even that doesn't work sometimes. I have days when my skin is burning and even clothes hurt.
As far as I can ascertain, there are few, if any, medical specialists in Norfolk and I'm finding myself alone and lost. I've gone from someone who was very active and worked constantly. To someone who is now having to give up working and I'm using a wheelchair or mobility scooter when I go out.
I'm mourning the life I had and finding it really hard to get people to understand what this is like. I could do with some moral support, so I don't feel so alone and adrift. I could do with some advice and a good laugh.
Apologies if this sounds like I'm being negative, I'm really, generally a very happy person.
You have come to the perfect place for support, friendship, and good advice. You are not alone in the way that you are feeling. At one time or another we have all felt the frustration, that you are going thru. Hope you get to your answers quickly.
Hi Linds. It was nice meeting you yesterday in the chatroom. I didn’t mean to dash out so abruptly but my husband had just walked in the door and we always greet each other. Hope to se you again soon. All the best

Welcome, Linds. I look forward to getting to know you. And, by the way, you don’t seem negative to me. It’s ok to share your feelings when you’re down.
Hugs,
Laurie
I know exactly how you feel. I once too was a very active person. And now it seems like just being able to get to the bathroom sometimes is a chore. I've named my pain Jacob and I yell at him all the time. Try it I found it helps.
I'm lucky that I have a really good doctor who seems to understand. Just keep looking for one that will help you. I'm sure you'll find one. I went to five different ones until I found mine. Just don't give up.
And here's for you're laugh. There was this pirate who walked into a bar with a steering wheel stuck down his pants. The bartender asked isn't that uncomfortable. The pirate replied AAARRRGG, It's driving me nuts.

Hi Suzie
Please don't apologise for greeting your husband, I'd have done the same. It was great to chat to you yesterday

HI Kimberley
Thanks for the giggle. I love that you've named you're pain Jacob. I've decided to call mine Crank-E :-)
Trevor (my other half) heard me talking to C-E this morning and when I explained he just shrugged his shoulders and walked out of the room...... I can only think that he' s gotten so used to my quirky ways that it's obviously normal. Wonder what he'll make of it when I start shouting at C-E? Men in white coats?
I'm glad you got a giggle out of my little joke. ( My other half is always telling me jokes). Laughter is good medicine.
I hope you find a good doctor soon. What are you taking for your pain now? I'm on Cymbalta. I was on pain meds but they took them away. It was really hard at first but I found that after about a week the pain calmed down a lot. I still have days I wish I could have a perc. I also found yoga helps. I found on-line just for my fibro. Walking sometimes helps if my legs aren't killing me.
Where are you from? Maybe I can help you look for a doctor near by you on-line.
