Help!

I recently started developing skin rashes and I am wondering if it could be related to my fibro. Does anyone know if this is one of the symptoms of fibro? I have not done anything different from my norm. Have not switched soaps, make-up, eaten anything new. I woke up a week ago with it on my arm. It lasted about 4 days then went away then just yesterday I woke up with a couple spots on my face. Today when I woke up it had gotten worse and almost my entire face is covered. It is raised, swollen, scaly and very itchy. I am going to go see a doc tomorrow but was just wondering if this is fibro related.

Hi Delynn and welcome! It's nice having you here on our site.

In answer to your question, yes, skin rashes can be caused by fibro. Well, to be more specific, mine are usually yeast rashes under my breasts or some kind of weird rash on my neck. I find that I can no longer wear necklaces as i always break out when wearing them, something that never used to happen with me.

I have used triple antibiotic cream on the neck rash and it helps to resolve it quickly by taking away the itch, burning, swelling and then the rash. Takes a day or two.

Still, I think you should have your doctor check your rash. One never knows when things can change for us, and you want to make sure that your rash is nothing to worry about.

Cheers,

Petunia

Yeah, mine started in Dec. Itches first then comes to the surface. Like hives but leaves a small scab. I find if I put cortisone cream on it before it comes out, it won't come to the surface. But, if I get the itching in my sleep, I scratch and it comes out anyway. Autoimmune diseases have all sorts of skin rash manifestations.

I have lupus and am always getting rashes. Have they checked you for lupus?

Hi everyone. Thank you all for your concern and help. My rash is getting better. I went to the doctor but they don’t know what causes my rash. Yes I was checked for lupus and the test came back negative.

I get a rash on my Right ankle when I have a bad flare up. My last rash I had for three weeks and my FM was really bad at that time also. I know when I start to see a rash my FM will be bad.

My sister has polymyalgia rheumatic and she gets a rash on her ankle when having a flare, same place each time. The symptoms are a lot like fibro but you test positive on an ANA test. I tested negative. She takes prednisone low dose that works for her symptoms.
