Just kidding about using it as an IVdrip, I hope you know that.
OH YES! Some mentioned sleep meds and amitruptyline etc. having a morning hangover. That could very well be the problem too. Your body's reactions to meds can change now and then.
Yes it does happen. It happens if I take my bedtime meds on an empty stomach my or if I need to take an ambien half way through the night. You might want to think of taking some meds, especially narcotics and muscle relaxants, with crackers and a glass of water, so that it doesn't flood your system, so that you feel out of control or drunk doesn't hit you so hard. Another possibility is that you might be taking a combo that hits too hard. You may want to take those meds at different times or not together.
Good luck.

You don't like Coconut?? Well....NO Pina Colada's for you!
Even though Sheila is kidding..I think you should get it by IV drip. hahaha
Geranium (giddy from mid-day nap)
Whoa there, Geranium, need to cut back on that sleep if you are going to be all cuckoo! LMAO. I seriously doubt if your hangover/drink feeling in the morning would be caused by klonopin especially since you have been taking it for 25 years. I used to take 4 mg at night for sleep and I never had that feeling. I will trade you some MM brownies for a coconut IV. LOL Glad you got a good nap.
Yes I mostly get mine in the afternoon/evening. Every time I move my head or eyes I feel like the world is spinning. My meds haven't changed and my doc seems to think also that it could be some sort of virus, but I've had it so often and for such a long time I don't see how it could be.
I have been diagnosed with central equilibrium by an ENT. They put you through a bunch of tests in strange contraptions and then tell you you are off balance, which I have along with the dizziness. Why? They don’t know! Story of my freaking life. Here’s you $400 doc, thanks for nothing! So, they recommended vestibular therapy but I have it gone as I was having surgery, etc. still don’t know if I will go- um, maybe when I pay off the hospital, radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologists, etc.
Did somebody mention Pina Coladas ????
When and where? I'll even bring the booze!
Yeah don't you just love it when you wait forever to see a "Specialist" so that you can finally find out what's going on and hopefully find some treatment and they scratch their head and say "I'm sorry I really don't know what to suggest..." I'm getting tired of hearing the same thing over and over. And yes it costs a fortune just to be told by a professional that you're really no better off than you were before you saw them!
Yea, that’s the same here. My neuro has diagnosed me with non-Parkinson’s tremors in my hands. Without my topamax, I can’t put on my make-up or carry a cup w/o dropping it. Now, let’s be real, I used to never go out w/o make-up. Now, I rarely do.
I use Tervis tumblers now because I was breaking everything. Now I am on 500 mg of topamax which has thrice the purpose: tremors, migraine prevention, and seizure control.
Hugs Keirsten
Yeppers, I do believe it was that cuckoo Geranium..hahaha
Okay...you're in charge of the Pina Coladas and guess I'll have to cyber ship the MM brownies to MB-P. LOL
OR...we could gather at my place waaaaaaay up here in the Tundra & have both.
ROMFLOL
Yes, super good nap with my Sophie curled up beside me. She sure doesn't need any brownies OR coconut IV to saw off a few logs. Obviously FM is not contagious although there are a couple people I'd love to pass it on to. (mean ole me)
How could you take only 4 mg of Clonazepam, klonopin, Rivotril when the lowest dosage is 10 mg? Is my Dr. lying to me again.....huh
I get it the same way--- I'm not dizzy UNLESS I move my head or eyes, then the room kind of shakes back and forth, doesn't spin.
That is just sooo cute AND appropriate.
1848-FancySophie.jpg (2.99 KB)I don't know what breakthrough dizziness is...can you explain that?
I am in such a tipsyy/dizzy/uncoordinated state in the mornings as the FM progress's that I now must have a HLTH worker come to my home as a 'stand by' whilst I have my shower. Reason being I actually fell OFF my shower chair, outa the tub and whacked my head on the commode. Tis a wonder I didn't break any bones.
I know it's not because I'm hungry but I sure would like to know what that breakthrough dizziness is that you speak of.
Geranium
Same as me Renie.....am fine UNTIL I move my head and/or eyes. No spinning either...just a nano sec of disorientation along with a weird dizzy feeling. It' so hard to explain to a Dr. but I think we FM people get the drift. As least some of us who go through these episodes.
And Berrygus...I so agree with the frustration of these "specialist" scratching their noggins and having NO answers or suggestions. I had the audacity to tell a 'specialist' that he should NOT get paid if he couldn't help me. Hmph!
Hi Keirsten,
I think you should call your Dr about this. I took Savella for several months until it made me shake uncontrollably one day, I tried to blame it on something else, it happened again, and I started to feel as though someone was running a piece of glass down the middle top of my head. So I went to see Doc right away. He took me off the Savella and I never had it again. It was rare, but very real.
Please listen to your body!
Wishing you well,
SK
Go Geranium! I wish I had your guts! The way you described your dizzy's is EXACTLY how mine are!!! It's such a bizarre feeling! I don't know if any of you have seen the movie Hunger Games, but when the girl gets stung by the waspy thing and has the weird dizzy thing, is the closest thing I've ever been able to come to explaining it. So I guess it's just another thing we have to "live with".
Geranium,
I am surprised that your doctor would prescribe elavil during the day period at this day and age when there are so many more both safer drugs plus with less drowsiness. ln early 1980's i was put on very low dose, tiny pill that tasted like roses, and my doctor said that if i cannot take it 12 hours before i was to rise to get ready for work than do not take it at all. He said just was too drowsy of a drug.
Plus with the clonazepam, you would be a zombie! I think it is great you are on only few drugs. I am with you, the least amount the better.
As to the coconut water at our local very yuppie grocery store they do carry it having different flavors for those of you who do not like coconut taste! Bit pricey but it is out there...of all places you might try Amazon. I just check and yep i saw pineapple coconut water as well as other kinds.
I still hope the original person who has the drunk feeling has by now gone and seen a doctor.
Hi Geranium,
Glad you got a good nap!
Do you take 1 mg or 10 mg of klonopin? I was on 4 mg for years until I moved here and the new doc said that is way too much. I am off it now but it was six months of pure hell with the withdrawals. Bleh!
Hope you got good sleep last night too.
