I finally got myself to the Drs to get a referral to a specialist to start dealing with my fibro. I now have a lot to worry about until I see the specialist. At the Drs office I was told that I needed to see a neurologist and be tested for alzheimers due to my symptoms of what I call my brain fog. I am having my MRI early tomorrow morning. They did all the labs at the Drs office so I wouldn't have to wait on that after seeing the neuro Dr. Needless to say I am very emotional and worried. As a nurse my area of nursing was taking care of the elderly with dementia so I know what a diagnosis of Alzheimer means. My prayers are that This is not my diagnosis. I don't know how long I will have to wait for my appointment with the specialist. They haven't called me yet with an appointment. Please pray with me. Thanks
Hi Debra. It seems with Fibro we are always being tested for many things that usually come up negative. Our symptoms mimic so many other types of illness. Fibro fog is a common symptom and can be really bad sometimes, so it’s very possible that’s all it is. Try not to worry. It will not help the situation or your fibro. It’s good your’re seeing a specialist soon so you will know for sure what’s going on. I will be thinking of you. Let us know what you find out.
Best wishes,
Melyn
Hi Debra, I as well be thinking of you tomorrow morning while your having your MRI. I am newly diagnosed but I too had to go through many tests for lupus rhuematoidal tests and the lists go on. Everything came back normal. Finally I asked could it be fibro? Our disease dies mimicking many other diseases and I for one have experienced fibrofog . I’m praying for you.
My MRI is complete. Still waiting for an appointment with neuro. Wow, I could feel tugging and sensations in different areas of my brain during the 30 min scan. The strap across my forehead would slip when I felt it in that area. It was shifting my head I swear. Weirdest feeling ever. Now the wait. Thank you for your support. And thanks for reminding me that we spend alot of time being tested for things that fibro mimics only to find that its not that. I am hanging on to that and believing the results will be negative.
The initial reading of the MRI shows minimal changes in brain. Still waiting to see a neuro Dr. No appointment date as yet. Trying to get Rheumatologist appointment in process too. Looking like the alzheimers is gonna be ruled out. Yippee. Boy what we fibromites go through..........
