I have been in tears all morning i found out today that my dr thats been treating me for the last 4 years for fibro high blood pressurs adhd seizure everything released me and will no longer see me and i will be out of all my meds come friday i dont know why or what im gonna do its so hard to fond a dr that believes and that is willing to treat me
Wow, I'm curious about why, but you don't have to answer that. Calm yourself down and call another doctor asap, get going some where else. What ever the reason is you and your current doctor did not work out, sounds like your going to need to keep the meds going to avoid other issues. Keep your head up.
I am so sorry for you. Perhaps you could do some calling to your doc and find out why you’ve been dropped. It may be for a simple reason that is fixable. If not, go to your primary and find out who else you can see.
It’s to difficult to be without the meds so keep on trying and don’t give up.
Chin up and carry on.
Blessings,
Bevie

It is my primary dr. And ive called left message with hos nurse on why but she hasnt returned my call im very frustrated and at a aww on why just dont make no sence he has been treating me for years and out of the blue he stops
He could be moving they usually send out a letter to tell you what is going on. Leave another message about the meds and call the pharmacy they may can fax the dr office to get you another months supply and that may give you time to find a new doctor.
Call the pharmacy and see how many refills you have, leave a message and say that since hes releasing you and you werent given enough notice you'd like one final month worth of medications, and a copy of your chart then wipe your eyes and breathe stress only makes fibro worse tommorow morning start calling around someone will be willing to treat you everyone hits bumps keep your chin up
Yes, yes, and yes! Vishq is right, your doc should supply you with at least one more refill to keep you going until you get a new primary care doctor. And a copy of your chart.
As for why this happened, well, it could be a change in the reimbursement that the government will give to his office. That's usually the reason for something like this. The only other thing I can think of is if you questioned him on something or asked for a second opinion. I did that with my son's doctor and the doctor dropped him as a patient as of that day! Some doctors put ego ahead of treatment.
Once you get a refill, do try to find another doctor. You can ask people on here if they know of a good fibro doctor in your area.
Hugs to you for such a trying situation,
Petunia
Okay, think I know why he did this. He sent you to a Psych, who thought it was all in your head, blah blah, and wanted to take you off all of your meds and you resisted. You actually disagreed with a doctor, which is the biggest no-no to some doctors who are all ego and not much with listening. And what gives with that judge who denied you disability because you have a dog??? You must live in a lunatic state is all I can say. Next time lie and say you got rid of the dog. Stupid judge, stupid doctor!
You need a better doctor, stat! I would ask people on here for any recommendations, then talk to your disability attorney about that judge who thinks you should be working no matter what level of pain you're in, and see if they have any recommendations, if you've not already talked to them.
Jeez, I'm sorry about this! i don't know how such a nasty person can be a judge over the lives of the sick. He should be a Charles Dickens character in Scrooge.
Ive called drs 5 times left message and no return i been on phone all day trying to find a dr no one so far will treat fibro iam so stressed been throwing up all day but not giving up
is it far? can you go in person? the Hipaa act protects you in this regard you can demand your records if you write it up and so long as they dont mail or fax them to you they cant charge you for them .. and while you are there you can ask that they give you one more refill or call the states ombusman
Still no call back and no luck with finding new dr iam going into dts office in the morning to get my records and seeing if they can give me my refills one time and try to find out why all of a sudden he dont want to treat me
There has to be a rheumatologist in your area. As far as the dr that is releasing you care, they cant just do that. it is against the law. You should go to the office, tomorrow. Good luck!
I went to drs office dr said due tovdea regulations he is unable to care for any of his patients that live over 30 miles away and isnt allowed to give refills i found another dr i hope and pray he continues all my meds i go see him at 4 today so say a little prayer for me and i will update tonight let you all know what happens thank you all for your Support and encouragement
Did he give you a specific reason why he's doing this? Sometimes, Dr.s get frustrated if patients have a gov't insurance like Medicaid, and throw in the towel for even the longstanding patients. Even when that is the case they must give you 30 days, state to state, differ. I worked for a Dr. for years prior to getting fibromyalgia. That was in California. At that point it was illegal, or so our Dr. told us, to leave a patient without a prescription that they had been on for a long period of time. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. You must be feeling scared and angry. It doesn't help that it's Memorial Day Weekend either. I'll check back with you later to see how you're doing. Love and hugs, Susan D.

Im just now reading DEA regulations and wow the really dont care about those of us who need pain management and dont have cancer
you have 30 days, by law, to continue with the doctor who "released" you to find another. Go back to get yourself your med Rx and get busy finding another provider over the next few weeks. The doc should have sent you a written notice. At least in NY that's how it's done. But I wouldn't be surprised if all states have a similar procedure. To not do so would provide you the opportunity, at least in NY, to register a complaint against them with their licensing board.
