Development
’Research’ today:
A colleague asked me about glutathione: Glutathione has been mentioned occasionally, but not explicitly for FM or MCAS, so I haven’t targeted it. The German page ZdG is very informative. It is an antioxidant, of which I already take 20. As a peptide of glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine, it is unattractive to me because I have ambivalent reactions to these amino acids. They specifically don’t recommend liposomal glutathione, and think that you should at least reduce the dose, because of the higher bioavailability. I know from experience that it is easy to overdose on amino acids, and I guess it is similar with peptides. When overdosing them, my experience is that you get the same symptoms as when underdosing.
They recommend having several glutathione values checked beforehand. I’ve tried everything that is mentioned round about glutathione, I have deliberately discontinued many of them (Mg, Se, NAC), but I continue to take some: B2, Ω3, raw vegetables.
