My fibro diagnose 1st year anniversary is coming up and I must confess, I am still trying to make some sense of this aweful condition. Went to a neuro last month and he basically confirmed my diagnose and sent me back to reumathologist. Vit D levels came down on the lower end so I was sent some too. It just seems that whem I am getting this thimg “under control” something else comes along. Right now the tingling and numbness are the worst for me, not to mentioned the crawling sensation!! So is one of those day where I think it is all in my head and I might be going crazy… Labs are fine, MRIs are fine, xrays are fine, but the pain is just there!!! Any thoughts, any feedback, anything at this point will help!! Thanks
Hi Jess, I also have the awful crawling sensation at times. I find that applying ice packs to the area can help calm the nerves down or maybe numb it a little. Of course, sometimes that occurs all over I know - maybe try to take a cool bath when that happens to see if it helps? I am sending you hugs, please keep us updated on how you are doing.
Thanks Auburnm for these suggestions, I will try the cool bath advice, as I live in a very hot place. I guess there is just no complete figuring out of this crazy fibro thing!!
I've never had the crawling sensation, but "one of those days" seems to come far more often with fibro than it should. I remember the day I was diagnosed, but I'm not sure I would want to.
Not an anniversary you are likely to be celebrating I guess. i don't know if it helps, but your story is very familiar, and your journey too, with all the tests, doubts wondering if you are going mad, etc. I am going thro' same things, and have been diagnosed about a year also. The lovely people in this community have helped a lot, please reach out to them.
Hey Jess I am having one of those days today! Just “fell into” a flare that I have been feeling coming on for a week now. It is frustrating when you are rolling along & feeling good & feel like you have the fibro “under control”—& then it reminds you that it can still control you. I was diagnosed a year ago in March. I am off work today taking FMLA. It isn’t what I would prefer but it is nice to know I have this option when the fibro takes me out. Hope you feel better soon!
HUGS from Deb
