Today I see my PA. She is my prescriber of all meds.
A week and a half ago, I had my first appt. With neuroligist, who sent his recommendations to my PA.
So, today she should be switching pain meds. This is something I have been desperate for for at keast a year. I have been nice-until today.
The neuro recommended oxycontin or ms contin. I have done my research to see what would ve covered.
Oxycontin is only covered if I have tried either ms contin or methadone with no success in the last year. Ms contin is covered immediaty.
after a fruitless referral to pain management in the last 6 weeks (an anethesiologist who only does nerve blocks and told me he would call when he could get me in), and Pt that is general excercises and a tens unit following, nothing has changed.
My PA always says she is not comfotable changing my pain meds, I do not have the option of changing providers. Anyone have any suggestions for ne?
