Milwaukee WI Rheumatologist

I started seeing rheumatologist, Dr. Satish Lahiri in 2010 and she was the one who diagnosed my fibromyalgia. Since then, I had switched to Advanced Pain Management (which also is a fantastic treatment center) to treat my fibromyalgia; however due to new and worsening symptoms occurring, I decided to return to Dr. Lahiri to get her opinion. Just like the first time I saw her, she was extremely thorough both in her interview and physical examination, she left no stone unturned. She took time to collaborate with me on which medication she felt would help my symptoms and thoroughly explained the treatment path that she is anticipating. She spent a good hour with me and it felt really great to have a doctor with such empathy and patience, especially after practicing for as long as she has been.

In between Dr. Lahiri visits, I had tried another rheumatologist and it was a very different experience. I'm sure we all know how it feels when a doctor blows you off and that was exactly what he did. He rushed in with his PA, did a brief exam while speaking to me and dismissing my concerns before prescribing me medications that I'd never heard of and did not know what they were for. I'm just mentioning this visit because it made me go back and think about Dr. Lahiri's approach versus this other rheumatology (who clearly did not take me or my problems seriously).

If you are in the Milwaukee area, I would highly recommend Dr. Lahiri, even if you just want a second opinion. You really get the feeling that she truly WANTS to help you and will do everything she can to reach that goal.

I am moving to Baileys Harbor, WI next summer, which is about 3 hours from Milwaukee I think, but it sounds as thought it might well be worth the trip to see her!

I'm sorry you're having a hard time with doctors. Which pain clinic did you go to? Have you been to Dr. Lahiri yet?

Hi. I was wondering if you would mind if I share this post with my support group, Milwaukee Fibromyalgia Connections? We have a thread on our message board for members to review doctors and clinics (the good, the bad, & the ugly) and I don't think anyone has reviewed Dr Lahiri yet. May I post this there?

Also, if you're interested in joining our group, we'd be happy to have you. We have support group meetings, social get-togethers, and share a lot of useful information with each other online. This group has made such a big difference in my life and these are some great people. You can find Milwaukee Fibromyalgia Connections on Meetup.com and on Facebook (those are the links directly to our pages).

Let me know about sharing this post. Thanks! :)

I have no idea, Dr. Lahiri is part of Aurora though and you could just go to their website: www.aurorahealthcare.org

Of course you can share this with Milwaukee Fibromyalgia Connections. I've gone to the group once, but I liked it and plan on attending in the future.
