New Ambien warnings by FDA

Doctors are being advised to lower doses of Ambien as many still have too high a level in their bloodstream to drive in mornings...This came out TODAY!

I'm betting there are going to be a LOT of unhappy people on this site as a result of this change.

Thank you for highlighting the change in Ambien dosing, SK. I hope people do take note.

I know, but it will keep the makers of the drug from getting sued! that's what everything is about these days, you know?

Can't say I blame them in this instance. Still being half-stoned from your sleep medicine is NOT a good frame of mind for driving.

omg Ambien was the best thing that ever happen to me and I take 12.5 and I make sure i'm in bed by 1030 pm and they tell you to get 7 or 8 hours of sleep. sometimes we don't get nearly that much but, I won't drive until 7 or 8 hours. thank you for the information. I hope my dr. does not lower my dose.

Hi SK - I know all about how bad Ambien is. Also, my friend Carol, the one I am a caregiver for, was given a prescription for Ambien last well. Her own therapist gave it to her!! What an idiot! Carol has a lot of mental issues and Ambien would be the WORSE thing she could ever take. Her nurse agreed, called the therapist and bawled her out and I threw the Ambien away! About 2 years ago I was given Ambien and the very first pill I took, apparently I got up in the middle of the night and cooked a meal for myself and when I woke up in the morning, my memory was just horrendous. Never again! Laurie
