Welcome, I am new to this site as a result of my nutritionist's recommendation. I fell down the stairs head first in 2002 and my whole life changed overnight. All these years later I still have a bunch of chronic issues. Currently, I am not eating white sugar or flour or red meat or fried foods as I am told these aggravate fibro. I have to say I am five days into this and I am detoxing like crazy but my Chiropractor tells me the inflammation will decrease if I go through this. SO, go through I am one day at a time. I have to say I do feel a bit better today. My back pain has been at a 10 for three days. If you have questions I will be happy to help if I can. I recommend a book by Dr Linda Nelson called Fibromyalgia and candida. Be well. Do things in small batches.
Lifestyle and paradigm shift in thinking is the key to health brother. Diet is important X1000! The production of neurotransmitters are also essential to right thinking. Pain can make an attitude in a NY minute!
I have had this since teen years...but they didn't know what to call it then. "Lazy" was a good term, and it really made me feel badly because I really wanted to do all this stuff, but I was just too tired. Then I got a diagnosis of PA...okay, take iron and you'll feel better. I wish. Then, around 2000, I got the Fibro diagnosis along with the PA. Okay, what now? It has been a long journey, but after many years of the ups and downs and unknowns, I am still day to day. However, I have taken some control back...I have had to modify my diet - a lot. No processed foods...only try to eat organics...farm to table...take my vitamins...my latest change has been to eliminate gluten. It has made a big difference to me, as my joints don't hurt as badly and don't have that "pressure" feeling. They still ache, but it's manageable most days now. The fatigue, on the other hand, well....let's just say I'm tired of being tired. My vitamins and B12 and everything gives me about 12 hours of energy right now, which allows me to be able to work full-time, but not a whole lot else. I am looking to find something where I can work at home. I have some leads I am following up on.
That is what has worked for me...you will get a different answer from each person, as no two person's symptoms seem to be the same, which is also frustrating.
Glad you found us, and maybe you can help shed some light on other people's issues that you have found helpful for you :)
Welcome! I'm new here too. I've been experiencing symptoms for 10 years and after about a million doctors I've got an official diagnosis... even though I knew what it was from my research. I think you'll find the support you need here as they have been very wonderful to me!
