Once a day meds are a bugger if they don't last all day (even the others don't last til your next dose either). Maybe take them every 20 hours? But then again that will make things a bit complicted and we don't need to encourage the fibro fog do we.
I hope you had a great time at the party! Shame I couldn't be there to polish of your cookies etc.
England is doing ok. They are doing great in the Olympics this week too. But we'll never catch up with you guys though. Funny how you're doing so well and you get all the best drugs out there... hmmmm. lmao. Just kidding! (Please don't hurt me)
Have you guys heard the "who ate all the pies song"? It seems like it was written just for me. lol.
I love watching your "man versus food" and I want to start my own "Jo versus cake" but I don't like cameras- plus it would be a very expensive show to make.
Hahaha!! They all count if they come into the chocolate, cookies, or cake categories. The sumo diet... lol. (or opera singer diet for the posh people)
Only two pieces?!!! They better be two halves or the deals off! And to cheer me up now, you will have to throw in a large pecan pie too. (And probably a prescription for insulin). Lmfao (That is laugh my FAT ass off - before I get in trouble)
I have not had the extreme symptom you describe but I do have esophageal pain at times. I have burning whenever I take a med like aleve or advil. Actually, have pretty much stopped those bacasue they hurt so much. I also have pain in that region at times, like sharp, sharp spasms when I bend over. Not always, but sometimes. So I imagine that the nerves that control the esophagus are affected by the fibro, just like everything else in the body, pretty much. I went through tests to determine if I had any lesions or other problems in the area but like most tests I get it showed nothing. So dr concluded it was the fibro. Try Malox. That helps me a lot when I feel particularly sensitive there. I also avoid spicy foods. Cannot eat any hot Mexican anymore!
I hope you feel better, and God willing someday they will figure out how to rid us all of this affliction.....
Thanks Judy, it is a ton worse today but then everything is. I know I have overdone it these past few days as I a visiting my family but today I am in bed in the hotel and skipping the festivities. Perhaps that will help. And the bottle of maalox is right next to me.
So Sorry MBP, that you have to miss out on the fun. When I have a bad stretch I get really down and feel anxious besides about all the things/people I am letting down, letting go. I hope at least you are able to take the time you need to feel better without the guilt. I struggle so with that. Will keep you in my thoughts.Hope you recover quickly.
Thanks SK. I did get up and go for about an hour but had to come back to the hotel and lay down. I will be glad to get back to my own bed tomorrow although I am dreading the drive. Have a great night.
Hmmmmm, I sometimes get sharp pains in my lower left abdomen when I bend over. Not the esophagus but the same exact pain as you describe. Isn't fibro grand???
I'm glad you went ahead and had the tests though but it's certainly maddening when they come up as normal - not that I'd want yours to be otherwise, but it's still maddening!
Oh, spicy foods - like you, love them but just cannot tolerate them any longer. Too bad because I used to love Indian food.
Oh, MPB, that's a shame! Darn it! I really feel badly for you. Why does this stupid illness have to act up when we have special occasions and want to be able to enjoy them?
And also, WTF??? Excuse my language but I don't recall anything being written about fibro and the esophagus but it seems like a lot of us have experienced issues with it. So why isn't this issue mentioned in fibro sites? It's kind of horrible that you had to find out about it by experiencing it in an almost emergency setting. It would be helpful to have more fibro stuff included in the sites writing about it because as you know, there is SO MUCH more to the illness than what's written about in the fibro sites.
I hope you're feeling better, MBP. It really stinks that you can't be with your family but I understand it. My son is up visiting for two weeks and I couldn't do anything other than sleep this afternoon after working. Deep, exhausted sleep and I felt so badly about it but it's all I could do. Still exhausted too.
Thanks Petunia Girl, I had to stay in bed most of yesterday. Still feel horrible today and have the drive home to look forward to. Yuck! Maybe I will sleep some but sleep ha been elusive lately. I know what you mean about feeling badly. It sucks. Hope you have a little more energy today.
