The Botox works! It doesn’t last the entire 3 months, but my migraines are so much better. Good luck.
When they do it for migraines, they only do the shots on your head. I have it done every 3 months. Sorry you had this terrible experience.
My doc calls me his conundrum because if often have reverse side effects. When do you take your dilaudid? What times during the day. I found that I have to take my oxycodone either 4-5 hours before I plan to sleep or tire myself out so much that I am dozing off and take it right away just before going down for the night or it keeps me up Apollo night.

MBP, I’ve been saying that for a couple years now. Everyone asks me how I function on the medication I am on and I tell them. Your body reacts differently to pain medication when you actually NEED them. I don’t get a high at all from them. But I do get pain relief. I am able to do some chores and just live life ya know.

thank you aries and I am sorry you are on pain. It is frustrating when people who are not in pain like we are tell you how bad this drug is for you. Hey, I am the one in pain here. If these other folks were in half the pain we experienced they would be begging for the drug. Do not worry about being cranky, you have ample reason.
Fibrokitty, be scared but know that your doctor wouldn’t have put you on it if he didn’t think you could handle it. Be honest with him/her. If its working good, if not talk about it. If its too much definitely let him/her know. However, don’t torture yourself. It’s easier to stay on the schedule that your doc put on than trying to only take it when you are feeling bad but your doc obviously put you on it because you need it and your in pain all the time. It’s much harder on your physically, mentally and emotionally to start and stop and start and stop. Do you understand what I am trying to say? As I was once told don’t be a martyr.

Oh thank you for that reply. I am certainly not scared of a few injections. I have Radio Frequency done once a year on my neck and low back for pain and it helps. I think the actual term is Rhizotomy. I would suggest it for anyone with constant back pain from injury. However, there are few really talented Doctors that specialize in it. I feel very fortunate that I have a very good team of Doctors in Minnesota.
Wow, thanks for the comment. I am supposed to have shoulder surgery. Some tears need repair. I don't remember. Something about a tendon and muscle and something else.

Naltrexone, is mainly used for alcohol and opiate addiction, it cannot be taken within 7-10 days of taking an opiate, so you have to 'pick your poison here'.
Wow...thank you so much for this info. I will look into all of these articles and share them with the pain doc. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. I have heard of naltrexone--I know it to be used to reverse drug overdose.
Fibrokitty. I just saw this post above and I had heard about it and talked to my doc and he told me NO it has no benefit to people with FMS, CfS or MPS at all. And to watch out for the “fakes” out there.

Amazing, first it was cough medicine that could cure us. Now it's salt. But only Himalayan salt taken from a yak's tongue, no doubt. Should we add the salt to the cough medicine?
Actually, any messages like this should be taken with a grain of salt. Anything that sends you to sites that are going to sell you a "miracle" cure is SPAM from SALEMEN who want to make MONEY off of you. They always claim to cure your ailment. Always. They quote some "Dr." They quote some hokey "medicine." They oftentimes interact with you and pretend to have the ailment themselves and offer you false comfort and false hope. They are the worst kinds of liars and thieves - they not only steal your money but your hope.

Exactly. Her letter is very similar to any potboiler letter spamming these medical sites for people who are ill and wanting a fantastic cure. Sadly, there isn't one. I don't want to see you or anyone else get hurt.

Fibrokitty, why not talk to your doctor about your concerns? It seems to me that he'd be an excellent source to tell you about this drug a bit more. We often forget to ask and then get a bit timid about asking...but a quick call to his office could clear things up for you very quickly.
Wishing you the best with this. This illness is murder. I'm sorry you have it and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But we're coping. So there is that. And we're lucky enough to have another tomorrow, which is great.
