Parking

I know many people use handi cap place cards to park and I think this mom handled things wonderful. It does not deal with fibro but I wanted to share it

This was a good answer, a good reminder to all. Her children are very fortunate to have her!

She stated things well but the comments following her article are shocking. Reminds me of the meme of a woman in a wheelchair standing up to grab a bottle of wine. Someone, thinking they were very clever, attached the words “it’s a miracle” to the photo because, as everyone knows, only paralyzed people use MANUAL wheelchairs. smh

Very good answer.

Well written. Really makes you think.

My mom has a handicap hang tag & she uses it for my hubby & me when we ride wi her. My hubby had a severe stroke 10 years ago & I have FM & osteo arthritis.

Wow, she is amazing. Not only for the unconditional love she shows her children, but for not allowing someone elses opinion make her question that. I can only hope that my children who are helping me through my rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia can learn the lesson that we need to be compassionate and understanding of eachother. Hope you all have a great day!

It's a lovely article, thanks for sharing!!

Unfortunately, the people who make comments like that do not see what we or others deal with everyday. I may walk into a store just fine, but after shopping even using a motorized cart I can hardly put items onto the register, much less walk to my car. If only they could live in our shoes for one day, they would understand.

This is a good article and thank Heavens her daughters have such a good mom who cherishes what she has, difficult as it may be. I feel so badly for both of her children. What a burden she must bear in her heart from all of the fear and doubt compounded by the snide comments and posts. She is amazing in being able to keep her positive attitude!

I'm not sure why healthy people play preachy when they see someone in a disabled spot whom they *think* isn't qualified to be there. I know I've received ugly comments and all of you probably have too. It takes all of my energy to not shout out that they can have the d@mned place if *I* can have their health! Do we ask for this? NO. Do we suffer from this? YES!!! Do we deserve to walk into the grocery store without expending out day's worth of energy in the parking lot? H#LL YES, a thousand times YES! Until recently, I was doing the parking lot shuffle and I got to the point of barely being able to stagger into the door. But I probably looked like just a fattie who needed to loose weight by walking more. But looks are deceiving, as we know, so it's not smart of people to mouth off about disabled spots. And my placard was hard won, so not just anyone can get them. So bless this woman for writing this blog.

You are right, the comments are unnecessarily hateful. I have heard that Mom blogs are brutal places...I guess they really are! I would hate to run into most of the commenters as they seem to have ZERO compassion.
